Anker has launched new wireless chargers called PowerWave. These chargers are capable of ‘fast’ charging iPhone X, iPhone 8 and other Android smartphones that support wireless chargers. The PowerWave chargers are available in two variants the PowerWave 7.5 Stand and the PowerWave 7.5 Pad. The new chargers support Qi-enabled devices and will charge in accordance with the fast charging protocols used by high-end devices.
The PowerWave Chargers are designed to automatically handle varying charging capacity. For instance, the iPhone requires 7.5 watt and the Samsung devices up to 10 watts. In contrast, the Belkin F8M&47bt Qi Wireless charger can charge at a maximum of 5W. Anker’s WaveBoost technology is rated to be 30 percent faster as opposed to other wireless chargers. The thermal management system is manned by a silent cooling fan that not only helps the charger mitigate heat but also helps in charging faster.
Anker’s PowerWave Chargers come equipped with WaveBoost technology that makes use of an advanced cooling system. We need to understand that apart from charging capacity the duration required to charge largely depends on the efficiency of the thermal management system. Another interesting feature is that the cooling system in Anker’s new charger helps to maintain the charging process at an optimal level.
As far as charge times are concerned, the PowerWave charges the iPhone X in an impressive 3.1 hours while the wired one takes 3.2 hours. The same charger can charge the Samsung Galaxy S8 for 2.6 hours while the original Samsung charger requires nearly 3 hours. Both the chargers come with safety features like over-charge protection, foreign object detection, and built-in radiation shielding.
Anker’s PowerWave 7.5 Stand and Pad, both come with a Quick Charge 3.0 AC adapter tagged along with a 3-foot PowerLine Micro USB cable. The Anker PowerWave 7.5 Stand is priced at $49.99 and the Anker PowerWave 7.5 Pad is priced at $25.99.
