Both Airtel and Reliance Jio will be offering the cellular variant of the Apple Watch Series 3 in India next month. Jio will open the pre-order for the Apple Watch 3 Cellular starting from Friday, 4th of May at its official website. The Apple Watch 3 will be available for direct purchase on Reliance Digital and Jio stores starting from 11th of May.

That apart, Jio is offering a priority service for the preorders. Not only will the customers get the Watch on a priority basis but the Jio executives will set up the Watch along with the Jio Service. Furthermore, they will also help you port from your current operator to Jio. The company will also be allowing users to use the same number on both their smartphones and the Apple Watch 3. The offer will be available for both prepaid and postpaid Reliance Jio users.

Meanwhile, Airtel has also announced that it will begin selling Apple Watch Series 3 on its website. As with Jio, the preorders begin from May 4 and the Watch will be available on May 11th.

The main highlight of this variant of Apple Watch Series 3 is the built-in cellular connectivity. The Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) makes use of a unique antenna design that utilizes the display of itself as both a transmitting and receiving element for LTE and UMTS. Furthermore, it uses an inbuilt eSIM, which according to Apple is one hundred times small than a traditional SIM card. What’s more interesting is the fact that the Apple Watch Series 3 shares the same number as on your iPhone. So, you don’t need to provide an additional number of family and colleagues.

To top things up, the all-new Apple Watch Series 3 comes with a faster S3 dual-core processor and a W2 wireless chip for charging. Additionally, it comes with a barometric altimeter. The newly designed W2 chip from Apple is said to make WiFi 85 percent faster and both Bluetooth and WiFi 50% power efficient. Alongside that, the new watchOS 4 brings in a number of neat features to the Apple Watch Series 3. It now comes with an improved heart rate app with a deeper focus on fitness and health of the user.
