Motorola has finally launched the Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Play in India. The Moto G6 and the G6 Play are priced at Rs 13,999 and Rs 11,999 respectively. Both the devices were announced in Brazil earlier this year. The Moto G6 and the G6 Play come with incremental updates and the company finally jumps to the 18:9 aspect ratio bandwagon.
The Moto G6 comes fitted with a 5.7-inch FHD 18:9 display. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 paired with 3GB/4GB LPDDR4 RAM. On the storage front, the Moto G6 offers a choice between 32GB and 64GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via the microSD card slot.
Camera options on the Moto G6 include a dual rear camera setup consisting of 12MP+5MP sensor alongside dual LED flash. The front camera/selfie camera is a 16-Megapixel sensor. Designwise the new Motorola phones draw some major inspiration from its predecessor. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the back. The metal unibody now comes with a glass covering at the back. Backing the device is a 3,000mAh Battery that supports fast charging via the USB Type C.
Other important features on the Moto G6 include Moto Voice, Moto actions, and a dedicated dual SIM slot. The Moto G6 3GB/32GB variant retails at Rs 13,999 while the 4GB/64GB variant costs Rs 15,999.
Moto G6 Play
With the demise of Nexus, the industry has been left with a void when it comes to affordable smartphones with a guaranteed Android update and a stock Android experience. Devices like the Moto G6 Play fit in perfectly and offer pure Android experience at an affordable price point.
The Moto G6 Play comes equipped with a 5.7-inch 18:9 HD display and is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core SoC paired with 2GB/3GB of RAM. On the storage front, Motorola is offering 16GB/32GB of expandable memory (up to 128GB). The Moto G6 Play offers a 12-Megapixel primary camera unit with LED flash. The front/selfie camera is an 8-Megapixel unit with LED flash. The fingerprint sensor is rear mounted on the Moto G6 Play. As expected the Moto G6 Play comes with stock Android Oreo. That apart the other highlight of the Moto G6 Play is the large 4,000mAh battery pack that supports TurboCharge.
