Just when we thought that manufacturers are wary of choosing Wear OS, here is a new lineup of Touchscreen smartwatch powered by WearOS. It’s no secret that plenty of Luxury and Fashion watch brands have tried their hands at smartwatches and the latest one to do so is Marc Jacobs. The firm is headed by a popular American Fashion designer called Marc Jacobs.
The Marc Jacobs Riley touchscreen watch starts at $295, which is not much especially for a designer watch. Marc Jacobs Riley lineup already has two watches, one of which is a hybrid and another is an actual analog watch. So the Riley Touchscreen is the first smartwatch from Marc Jacobs. The makers of the watch have not listed the specifications clearly and all that is clear is the product image.
According to the folks at Engadget, the Riley Touchscreen comes with a casing sized at 44mm and it offers a 1.19-inch AMOLED display. The watch is powered by the ancient Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor and comes with a wireless charging feature. It is quite likely that the Riley Touchscreen offers IP67 water resistance.
The Riley Touchscreen watch will be available in both black and white-gold colors. As of now, it seems that only the Black one is available at Target. Some sources predict that the white-gold variant will be available on the Marc Jacobs website starting tomorrow. That being said, it won’t be reasonable to expect a battery life of more than one day, especially since the watch runs WearOS. Google rebranded the Android wear WearOS but the new operating system inherits a majority of problems from its predecessor. Apart from the single day battery life, the WearOS also suffers from some perennial problems like sync issue and sluggish performance.
