The Nokia X6 gained a lot of attention as it was an attempt to resurrect the ‘X’ series of Nokia phones, and it came with some very competitive specifications, and of course, the infamous notch. However, the smartphone was launched just in the Chinese market while global users were kept waiting for the notch-donned Nokia phone. However, the wait seems to be getting over as it looks like Nokia is getting ready to launch the Nokia X6 globally along with another notched smartphone, the Nokia 5.1 Plus, the specs of which have surfaced on TENAA.
The usual TENAA document lists the specifications of the Nokia 5.1 Plus as follows – Under the hood, there’s an octa-core processor clocked at 2 GHz indicating the presence of either a Qualcomm 600 series chip or a Mediatek ‘P’ series SoC. RAM options include 3GB, 4GB and 6GB along with 32 or 64GB for storage which would be expandable through a micro SD card slot.
The display on the 5.1 Plus is a 5.86-inch panel with an HD+ resolution, 720p x 1520p to be precise, and will have a notch, thanks to which the aspect ratio is said to be 19:9. On the rear, the Nokia 5.1 Plus will sport a dual camera setup with a 13MP sensors and an 8MP front-facing shooter for selfies. The battery on the device is a 3000mAh one and the performance can only be determined once we know the nature of the chipset and its manufacturing process, by which its efficiency can be guessed.
Nokia, ever since its return to the smartphone industry has stayed true to its identity and has been providing some solid build quality, but, with specs that are a little underwhelming. Nokia seems to have struck a solid price to performance ratio with the Nokia X6, but we’ll have to wait to see if Nokia manages to release these phones globally at a price similar to its Chinese counterparts.
