Having launched the Moto G series of smartphones a couple of weeks back, Motorola today has unveiled a new smartphone under the ‘e’ series, the Moto e5 Plus. While its younger sibling, Moto e5, was already on sale in major offline retail outlets for Rs. 9,999, the e5 Plus will be sold for Rs. 11,999 exclusively in India on Amazon.in as well as in moto hubs all over the country.
Talking about specifications, the e5 Plus sports a 6-inch HD+ (720 x 1440p) IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC powers the e5 which is an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.4 GHz coupled with the Adreno 505 GPU. The smartphone has 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage which is expandable through a dedicated micro SD card slot.
On the camera front, the e5 Plus houses a 12MP rear shooter with an aperture of f/2.0 along with Laser Auto Focus as well as PDAF. The front facing 8MP camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and a dedicated LED flash handles selfie duties. The software on the e5 Plus is pretty much stock-like and it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The highlight of the Moto e5 Plus is the humongous 5000mAh battery that it packs, with support for 10W charging with the provided adapter.
The Moto e5 Plus will be sold in just one variant as mentioned above, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, and will be available in two color options – Black and Fine Gold. However, for an asking price of Rs. 11,999, the e5 Plus surely does feel underpowered compared to what the competition has to offer. The e5 Plus will be available starting midnight today and will come with launch offer like no-cost EMI as well as Rs. 800 cashback using SBI Credit Cards. Moto seems to be losing its hold in the Indian market and is banking upon its superior brand image to sell devices. Wish to know more about the e5 Plus or planning to buy one yourself?
