Xiaomi’s upcoming Pocophone F1 has been making rounds in the rumor mill for a while now, turning a lot of heads as it is speculated to be quiet a powerful smartphone with a Snapdragon 845 under the hood, for not too high a price as with every Xiaomi device. While we didn’t have much info about the Pocophone F1 other than the SoC and the weird nomenclature, we now have a few leaked images of the smartphone itself along with its retail box and a few other specifications as well.
Thanks to some information let out during its Bluetooth certification, we now know that the Xiaomi Pocophone might be intended to be sold in the European market specifically. The front of the device as seen in the leaked images has a film adhered to the screen which mentions some key highlights of the Pocophone F1 including the flagship grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC along with a liquid cooling system in place which is rather unique as smartphones usually do not require such a system in place unless the device is meant for gaming or such CPU intensive tasks.
Speaking about gaming, Xiaomi already has a gaming smartphone under its portfolio by the name of Black Shark, so it would be interesting to see if the Pocophone F1 is an international alternative to the Black Shark which is exclusive to the Chinese market. This becomes more evident with the fact that powering the Pocophone F1 is a huge 4000mAh battery which is generally not found on regular flagships, but is surely a big plus if you intend to play games for long hours.
The remaining images show off the smartphone’s aluminum back along with a dual camera setup and a fingerprint scanner placed below it. The bottom houses the speaker grille along with a USB Type-C port and unlike the Mi 8, Xiaomi has decided to retain the headphone jack which now resides at the top. The display has a notch as expected but we’re not sure yet if it does sport additional sensors for face unlock like the Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition.
There’s no word about availability yet or when the device will be officially unveiled but going by the frequent leaks, the Pocophone F1 might debut sooner than you expect, so stay tuned to know more.
