Xiaomi is all set to add three new budget smartphones to its Redmi line in India on the 5th of September. The company has sent out press invites for an event in New Delhi, the teaser for which strongly hints at the arrival of all the three six-generation Redmi phones including the Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, and Redmi 6 Pro. Xiaomi had originally introduced the phones back in June in China, although we’re not sure at which price segment they will sit in the company’s crowded space in the country.

To recap, the Redmi 6 comes with a MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core CPU, a 5.45-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, a 3000mAh unit, and either 3 or 4GB of RAM. The camera department is handled by 12+5MP dual camera setup to the back with a pixel size of 1.25 microns, of course with an AI integration like every other smartphone launched of late.
The most affordable of them all, the Redmi 6A offers a MediaTek Helio A22 SoC, a 5.45-inch 720p display panel with an 18:9 aspect ratio, a 13MP sensor to the back, a front-facing 5MP snapper, 2GB of RAM, and a 3000mAh battery. The Redmi 6A will run on MIUI 10 out of the box which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
On the Redmi 6 Pro, there’s a 5.84-inch display with a Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio thanks to the notch housed at the top, Xiaomi’s favorite Snapdragon 625 chipset, 3 or 4 GB of RAM along with 32 or 64 GB storage options that can be further expanded through microSD, dual 12+5MP AI setup on the back and a 4000mAh battery. There is a rear mounted fingerprint scanner along with support for face unlock as well.
