Nearly three months after its original launch, Samsung’s latest tablet, the Galaxy Tab S4 has finally arrived in India. The new Galaxy Tab S4 is designed to offer “tablet mobility and PC power” and hence, comes equipped Samsung DeX which allows users to turn the tablet into a desktop computer through external peripherals and a proprietary dock. In addition, the Tab S4 is also the first tablet to feature a hardware-based facial recognition system and sports an Iris scanner on the front just like the company’s high-end phones.
Being a Galaxy Tab, of course, the tablet has an S-pen bundled in the box which lets you do all sorts of annotation stuff like doodling live messages, translating text, and more. As far as the specifications are concerned, the Galaxy Tab S4 is packed with power. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and a gigantic 7,300mAh battery. On the front, you’ll find a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display with minimal bezels, a Quad HD resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio.
Like the iPad Pro, the Galaxy Tab S4 also features four speakers which are tuned by the audio manufacturer, AKG and promises a battery life of 16 hours. Another highlight of the new tablet is the set of far-field microphones which lets you easily summon a virtual assistant. It comes preloaded with Android 8.1 with Samsung’s own skin on top. There’s a single 13-megapixel camera sensor on both the front and back.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is priced at Rs 57,990 and will be available from 18th October on Samsung’s own online store, Amazon, and select offline retail stores. HDFC card owners can also avail a discount for Rs 5,000 and Jio subscribers will be eligible for coupons worth Rs 2,750.
