Eufy, a sister-brand of Anker has launched its newest smart-speaker, Eufy Genie. The smart-speaker comes equipped with Alexa Voice Control, which can be triggered using the word – ‘Alexa’ – to perform various operations like playing music, setting alarms, controlling smart home devices, and getting updates on news or weather. The Eufy Genie, priced at Rs 4,799 (and on sale for Rs 1,999) is expected to give competition to the Echo Dot from Amazon, priced at Rs 4,499.
In terms of looks and design, the Eufy Genie comes with a sleek and compact design that makes it easy to be carried along outdoors and indoors. It is built using the unique Genie Technology that uses audio Smart far-field voice processor to detect 360° sound and isolate noise and then uses echo cancellation to listen to your voice during music playbacks or voice prompts.
The smart-speakers come integrated with 2W speakers that deliver dynamic audio and enough sound to fill out the entire room, to allow users to listen to their favorite music on streaming services like Saavan, Amazon Music, TuneIn, and iHeartRadio. What’s even good is Eufy claims that Genie works pretty well with Indian accents and pronunciations, which would make it easy to use. In addition to listening to music, the smart-speakers can also be used to set alarms, view updates on the calendar or get weather updates, and also control all Alexa-compatible Eufy smart products like the Luminous LED Smart Bulbs and other Alexa-powered devices.
From the looks of it, the Eufy Genie is very much comparable to Amazon Echo Dot but seems to have better quality speakers, at least on paper. With Amazon opening up the Alexa skills to everyone, the feature-set is very much comparable to the Echo Dot.
The Eufy Genie comes with Wi-Fi and can be set up using the EufyHome app to access around 10000+ skills and services. It comes in Black color and is available on Amazon for a discounted price of Rs 1,999, with 12 months of warranty.
