Best phones to play PUBG under Rs. 20,000
Poco F1 (Rs. 17,999)
Samsung Galaxy A50 (Rs. 18,490)
Motorola One Vision (Rs. 19,999)
Samsung Galaxy M40 (Rs. 19,999)
The Poco F1 shook the market when launched since it offered the flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset for a price of just Rs. 20,999. Now that the price has trickled down even lower to just Rs. 17,999, the Poco F1 is one of the best performing smartphones under Rs. 20,000, all thanks to the powerful chipset and additional boost provided by the built-in gaming mode. There’s also a large 4000mAh battery to power the internals assuring you of extended gameplay. The Poco F1 is the only device that supports gameplay at 60fps at this price point.
The Samsung Galaxy A50 sports the brand’s homegrown Exynos 9610 chipset which manages to play PUBG well at medium settings and is one of the few devices to offer the “Smooth” and “Extreme” settings at this price. The battery capacity is also quite high at 4000mAh and Samsung’s AMOLED displays are one of the best in the business, so playing games on the A50 is a visual treat. If you prefer a phone from a tier-1 brand, the Galaxy A50 can be a good option.
The Moto One Vision also has the Exynos 9609 chipset which is just a slightly underclocked version of the Exynos 9610 on the Galaxy A50, making it an equally good performer while playing PUBG. The One Vision also has a punch-hole display and a unique 21:9 aspect ratio which makes it stand out from the rest of the phones. A good option if you want a clean software experience too, but the battery capacity at 3500mAh is a slight let down
Unlike other devices in the ‘M’ series, the Galaxy M40 opts for a Snapdragon 675 SoC, same as the one found on the Redmi Note 7 Pro. This chipset offers good performance, albeit not flagship level, and can play most games including PUBG at a decent frame rate of 40fps. The punch hole display is a nice addition, but the battery capacity can be slightly concerning given that it is only 3500mAh.
Best phones to play PUBG under Rs. 30,000
OnePlus 6T (Rs. 27,999)
Asus Zenfone 5Z (Rs. 24,999)
The launch of the new OnePlus 7 means that last year’s OnePlus 6T is now being sold at a discounted price of Rs. 27,999 which makes it a great buy if performance is your top-most priority. OnePlus has a tradition of making one of the fastest and best-performing phones and the 6T is no less. You can get a constant 60 fps with this phone due to the Snapdragon 845 chipset along with the Gaming Mode that Oxygen OS offers. The 3700mAh battery performs well and to go along with it, there’s 20W fast charging which can be really handy for a quick top-up in between gaming sessions.
The 5Z is another flagship phone from last year with the Snapdragon 845 chipset providing great performance. While initially launched for Rs. 30,000, the price has trickled down to Rs. 24,999 and if you find the new 6Z with flip cameras to be out of your budget, the 5Z can still be a good option to play PUBG.
Other than these two, there are phones like Vivo V15 Pro and Oppo F11 Pro which carry premium-mid-range processors and fare quite well when it comes to PUBG gameplay.
If you can extend your budget above Rs. 30,000 and price isn’t that big of a deal, the OnePlus 7 Pro at Rs. 32,999 can be a great option since it comes with the new Snapdragon 855 SoC which improves the gaming performance. For Rs. 35,999, there’s also the Nubia Red Magic 3 which is a smartphone dedicated to gaming. If you are a hardcore gamer, you may want to check out the Red Magic 3 as it has some cool features like an in-built fan, customizable triggers on the sides etc. along with the Snapdragon 855 SoC.
