Alongside the Mi 9 Pro 5G, Xiaomi has also launched the much-anticipated smartphone for the year, the Mi Mix Alpha. The new smartphone joins Xiaomi’s Mi Mix series which focusses on introducing new and challenging designs that push the boundary of what is achievable on modern smartphones.
Design and Display
The Mi Mix Alpha comes with an all-screen display that wraps around the entire body of the smartphone and encases the camera module. It has a ceramic back strip and a TC4 aerospace-grade titanium alloy frame, which according to Xiaomi is three times stronger than stainless steel. The display offers a 180.6% screen-to-body ratio and comes with 2.15mm bezels on top and bottom, Surround Display layering technology, Display Acoustic technology, ultrasonic proximity sensor, and more. With the display stretching all the way, the edges can be used on display information like battery percentage, network strength, alarms, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection signal, and much more. Besides, since the phone constitutes an all-display design, the rear camera on the phone doubles as the front camera. So every time you need to capture a selfie, you just need to turn the phone around and shoot. Also, due to lack of any buttons on its sides, the phone uses pressure-sensitive areas on specific parts of the display to perform various button functions.
At its core, the Mi Mix Alpha comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage. To power everything, it includes a 4050mAh nano silicon cathode battery with 40W wired fast charging.
For optics, the Mi Mix Alpha sports a customized 108MP camera module with a 1/1.33″ image sensor and f/1.69 aperture, four-axis OIS, along with a 12MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom and f/2.0 aperture, a 20MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, laser focus, and flicker sensor.
Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha: Pricing and Availability
