Huawei’s sub-brand Honor announced the 9X / 9X Pro alongside the View 30 Pro in the global markets a few months back. And while the regular 9X was launched in India earlier this year, it is the 9X Pro that now finally makes its way in the country — with triple rear cameras, a pop-up selfie camera, and the Kirin 810 SoC. Let’s check out some of the other details for the device.

Honor 9X Pro: Design and Display

In terms of design, the 9X Pro features a 3D curved glass design with a pop-up camera module for the front-facing camera and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for authentication. Towards the front, it has a 6.59-inch Full HD+ panel with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a 92% screen-to-body ratio. Besides, the display is also TÜV Rheinland certified to cut down on the blue light and reduce eye strain. The 9X Pro comes in two colorways: Midnight Black and Phantom Purple.

Honor 9X Pro: Performance

Talking about performance, the Honor 9X Pro runs on the Kirin 810, the company’s proprietary chipset based on the 7nm process, with Mali-G52 MP6 GPU. It comes with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. To power the internals, the device has a 4000mAh battery with 10W charging. For connectivity, there is support for dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, and Bluetooth 5.0. Among other things, the handset has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication and a USB Type-C port. It also has a liquid cooling system to cut down on the heat and prevent performance throttling while gaming or performing other resource-intensive tasks.

On the software front, the 9X Pro runs on EMUI 9.1.1 based on Android 9. It comes with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), and not Google Services, which means it misses out on Google apps and services. However, to provide access to other apps, it does include Huawei’s own App Gallery, which can be used to download these apps on the device.

Honor 9X Pro: Camera

For optics, the 9X Pro sports a 48MP (f/1.8) triple camera setup on the rear with an LED flash. The primary camera is assisted with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, it has a 16MP shooter inside a pop-up module, with f/2.2 aperture, for selfies.

Honor 9X Pro: Pricing and Availability

The Honor 9X comes in only one configuration: 6GB + 256GB, priced at Rs 17,999. However, as a special launch price, the company is offering a discount of Rs 3000, which brings down the cost of the device to Rs 14,999. As for availability, the device is expected to go on sale later this month.
