OnePlus 15 vs iQOO 15: Design and Appearance
They might have very similar prices and spec sheets, but the OnePlus 15 and iQOO 15 look different from each other. We got the Infinite Black shade of the OnePlus 15 and the Legend White of the iQOO 15, and each came with its own appeal.
Both phones come with glass fronts and backs, with tall displays in front, metal frames with straight sides, and square-ish camera units with rounded corners. Both are elegant rather than loud designs. The OnePlus 15, however, has a more minimalistic feel about it, with just a logo in the centre of its back and a dual-tone touch in the camera unit. The iQOO 15, on the other hand, has iQOO branding and also a new iQOO logo, which is a tricolor racing checkerboard pattern. The camera unit of the iQOO 15 also has LEDs all around it, in what iQOO calls a Monster Halo effect. These light up in different colors, depending on the notifications and alerts one assigns to them.
The frame also contains a slight difference between the two phones – although both phones have the display/power button and volume keys on the right side, the USB Type-C port with the SIM card tray and speaker grille on the base, and a speaker grille and infra red blaster on the top, the OnePlus 15 also comes with the Plus key on the left, while the left side of the iQOO 15 is plain.
While both are big phones, the OnePlus 15 is slightly more compact than the iQOO 15 – it is 161.4 mm tall and 76.7 mm wide as compared to the 163.65 mm height and 76.8 mm width of the iQOO 15. Both phones are around 8.1 mm thin and weigh almost the same – our OnePlus 15 weighed 215 grams, while the iQOO weighed 220 grams. They are both pretty tough, too, with each having IP68/69 dust and water resistance, but while the OnePlus 15 comes with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 in front and Gorilla Glass 7i on the back, there is no mention of any similar protection on the iQOO 15.
Which of the two looks better is going to be a matter of personal preference. Some of us preferred the understated OnePlus 15, while others liked the more noticeable iQOO 15 (those lights around the flash and slightly more colorful logo do get attention). We are calling this one a tie.
OnePlus 15 vs iQOO 15: Display

The iQOO 15 holds the upper hand in the display department. Although both phones come with LTPO AMOLED displays, the iQOO 15 has a 6.85-inch display with a resolution of 3168 x 1440, while the OnePlus 15 has a smaller 6.78-inch display with a slightly lower resolution of 2772 x 1272. That said, the OnePlus 15 has a higher refresh rate of 165 Hz (the reason the brand says it went for a slightly lower resolution display is that the refresh would not have been possible on a QHD display) as compared to the 144 Hz refresh rate on the iQOO 15.
Although both displays support Dolby Vision and HDR10+, the iQOO 15 has a higher typical brightness of 1000 nits as compared to 800 nits on the OnePlus 15 and an HBM (which is the level of brightness in very bright conditions, like sunlight) of 2600 nits as against 1600 nits on the OnePlus 15. It is not as if the OnePlus’ figures are bad – they are well ahead of what one would get on the iPhone 17 and the Pixel 10 – but the iQOO 15 has a larger, higher resolution, and brighter display.
OnePlus 15 vs iQOO 15: Processor, storage, and other specs

Their displays apart, in spec terms, the iQOO 15 and the OnePlus 15 are like a pair of identical twins who got separated at a festival and ended up living with different families. Both are powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which is the top-end flagship favorite chipset at the moment and is likely to be for a good part of 2026. And in each device, this chip is accompanied by RAM and storage variants of 12 GB/ 256 GB and 16 GB / 512 GB, with RAM being LPDDR5x Ultra and storage being UFS 4.1. Both phones are clearly designed for a crazy level of speed and power.
The camera specs are broadly similar: three 50-megapixel cameras on the back (one main sensor with OIS, one telephoto with OIS, and one ultrawide with autofocus), and a 32-megapixel camera in front for selfies. There are, however, subtle differences – the OnePlus 15’s main sensor is a Sony IMX906, whereas the main sensor on the iQOO 15 is the Sony IMX921, which is supposed to be slightly superior. The OnePlus 15’s telephoto, however, has 3.5x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom, as compared to the 3x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom on the iQOO 15. The OnePlus 15’s selfie camera also has autofocus, while the iQOO 15’s selfie snapper lacks it.
In connectivity terms, both phones come with 5G, Bluetooth 6.0, infrared, GPS, and Wi-Fi, and both have stereo speakers. The OnePlus 15 has a slightly larger 7300 mAh battery and supports faster 120W charging (there’s a 120W charger in the box), as compared to the 7000 mAh battery with 100W charging support (and a 100W charger) on the iQOO 15. Both phones support wireless charging, but the OnePlus supports a slightly faster 50W charging, as compared to 40W on the iQOO 15.
While both phones have broadly similar hardware, we think the slightly better telephoto and selfie cameras on the OnePlus 15 and the slightly bigger battery and quicker charging speed win this one for the OnePlus 15. But it is a very narrow margin, and one that will matter only to fanatical spec chasers.
OnePlus 15 vs iQOO 15: Software and UI

Both the OnePlus 15 and iQOO 15 come with Android 16, and are also the first phones to come with OxygenOS 16 and OriginOS 6 out of the box. Both interfaces are totally new ones, and claim to come with smoother operations and enhanced functionality. And they certainly add a whole new dimension to the OnePlus and iQOO flagship experience.
We think OriginOS 6 is slightly more polished in terms of animations and icons, and is likely to surprise users pleasantly because it is so different from its crowded predecessor, FunTouch OS, but OxygenOS 16 works very smoothly too and might remind many of the initial One UI, with its touches of minimalism. At the time of writing, OxygenOS seemed to bring more to the table in terms of AI integration, and also had the Plus button, which can be customized for different functions, as well as Mind Space for storing and analyzing information on the display. The iQOO 15, however, comes with the very innovative Monster Halo lights that light up in different colors as per different notifications and alerts, which is a very innovative touch in our book.
Interestingly, although both devices claim to come with clean interfaces, both have some bloatware onboard. That said, the iQOO 15 comes with OS update assurances for five years and security updates for seven years, as compared to four years of OS updates and six years of security updates on the OnePlus 15.
Which one you like is going to be a matter of personal choice – those who want a totally new interface and value that Monster Halo system, as well as longer software support, might like OriginOS 6, but OxygenOS 16 will have its supporters among those who want a more AI-forward, relatively uncluttered, and smooth UI. We are calling this a tie, as both are very good interfaces
OnePlus 15 vs iQOO 15: Cameras and photography

They might come with seemingly similar camera setups – three 50-megapixel cameras on the back (one main, one telephoto, and one ultrawide) and 32-megapixel selfie cameras – but their performances are very different. This is mainly because of the default color styles of both devices – the OnePlus 15 seems to focus a little more on details, while the iQOO 15 delivers eye-popping colors. The iQOO 15 also has significantly more versatile software, letting one do more with images and videos, such as adding seasonal effects. Some might find the iQOO 15’s interface a little confusing and even overwhelming, but with a little patience, one can get some stunning shots with it.
The OnePlus 15, however, scores in telephoto snaps and surprised us with some pictures at 50X and even at its maxed out 120x zoom (the iQOO 15 goes up to 100x digital zoom). We also found the OnePlus 15 delivering slightly better snaps on the ultrawide. The low-light performance of both main sensors was good, although we felt that the iQOO 15 delivered more pleasant images. The OnePlus 15 seemed to have a slight edge on videos, though, with better details. In selfies, the autofocus on the OnePlus 15’s snapper allowed us to take slightly better selfies, but the iQOO 15’s 32-megapixel snapper delivers slightly brighter, more colorful, and aggressively edited selfies.

It is really a clash between two styles of photography here – we think those into more serious photography might prefer the OnePlus 15’s slightly greater attention to detail, but the pure point-and-shoot crowd will like the bright colors and pleasant images that the iQOO 15 churns out. This is again a tie, with the choice really depending on personal preference.
OnePlus 15 vs iQOO 15: Gaming and multimedia
The bigger, brighter display of the iQOO 15 sees it wrestle this round away from the OnePlus. The OnePlus 15 is pretty much capable of handling any game or task one throws at it, from playing Call of Duty and Genshin Impact to editing videos, but the extra display real estate, combined with extra nits of brightness, makes the iQOO 15 a better proposition in these departments. Both phones come with stereo speakers that deliver very good sound, with the OnePlus 15 delivering slightly better sound in our opinion.
The bigger and brighter display makes the iQOO 15 the better option for gaming and viewing multimedia content. The big question that many will ask is whether the 165 Hz refresh rate of the OnePlus 15 makes a big difference compared to the 144 Hz of the iQOO 15? Our answer is that while the higher refresh rate does make a difference, we would not have noticed it if we had not been looking for it. The iQOO 15 wins this one – it is also a slightly cooler customer (literally) during high-end gaming, although both phones get warm-ish.
OnePlus 15 vs iQOO 15: Battery life and charging

If the iQOO 15 has a clear upper hand in the display battle, the OnePlus 15 has the same in the battery department. The OnePlus 15 has a 7300 mAh battery with support for 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The iQOO 15 has a 7000 mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.
The difference is not just in numbers. The OnePlus 15 comfortably lasted us close to two days, whereas the iQOO 15 got past a bit more than a day. The OnePlus 15 also got charged in about 40-45 minutes, as compared to the iQOO 15, which took close to an hour.
There is only one winner here.
OnePlus 15 vs iQOO 15: General, day-to-day usage

With the kind of hardware and software they pack in, it is hardly surprising that both the iQOO 15 and the OnePlus 15 pretty much cut through the everyday task list like a sharp sword through silk. Web browsing, mail, messaging, social media doomscrolling, videos, image and video edits – both phones were barely bothered by them. The bigger and higher resolution display of the iQOO 15 means that we could view more content on it, but the OnePlus 15 compensated with its more compact form factor and its faster refresh rate, which does become evident during endless scrolls.
Turn the phones face down, however, and the Monster Halo lighting of the iQOO 15 adds a new dimension to daily phone use – we have gotten used to finding out if we have new messages or mail by the color of the lights around the cameras of the iQOO 15. Network connectivity and call quality on both phones are excellent, as is the performance of the fingerprint scanners, but as we pointed out earlier, the battery life is noticeably better on the OnePlus 15. It is a close call, but we found the OnePlus 15 just a little better in everyday usage. It is, however, so close that if you do not mind a slightly bigger phone and a few hours less battery, the iQOO 15 will be the better daily driver.
OnePlus 15 vs iQOO 15: Price

Both phones come with the exact same RAM and storage options and price tags:
12 GB/ 256 GB: Rs 72,999
16 GB/ 512 GB: Rs 79,999
No matter which one you purchase, you will end up paying a similar price for a similar variant.
Verdict: Which is better for you – the never-ending quest or the never-settler?

The OnePlus 15 and the iQOO 15 are two broadly similar phones. So similar that you are unlikely to regret investing in either. Which one you opt for really is going to boil down to what you consider more important. The larger, higher-resolution display of the iQOO 15, combined with its more edgy design, will attract those who want to have an out-of-the-box design, while those who value elegant efficiency with endless battery life will prefer the OnePlus 15.
We really think it is going to boil down to a battle between display, design, and battery, as those are the only parameters where the two devices differ significantly. Our edgy, fun side takes the iQOO 15 when we head out to our favorite cafe or for a casual catch-up, but when we have work on our minds or a business meeting to attend, we find ourselves reaching out for the OnePlus 15. It is not as if the OnePlus 15 cannot do great gaming or that the iQOO 15 won’t slot into a corporate boardroom; it is just that each has its own comfort zone.
In a perfect world without bank account limitations, we would recommend both phones. They are THAT evenly matched. In the end, it will boil down to what you consider most important, and while choosing one is a problem, it is actually a good problem to have.
