You might have heard about NoPhone, a Kickstarter campaign which started as a joke, but in the end managed to raise slightly more than $18,000. If you haven’t, then you have probably guessed by the name that we’re not speaking about a device, but rather about a nodevice. The idea behind NoPhone is simple – a ‘something’ that lets you just pick it up and hold it.

At first, this seems like a totally useless idea and something that would seem appropriate only on 1st April, but after receiving quite a lot of orders on Kickstarter, the company has actually shipped NoPhones to those who’ve ordered them. And now they’re ready to sell more, as the ‘thing’ has become available for purchase on their website for $12.

Now, I don’t know what you’re thinking, but this is the perfect idea of a gift to give someone who spends too much time with their smartphones. And it seems that this is the main reason behind this product; here’s what the team says:

Phone addiction is real. And it’s everywhere. It’s ruining your dates. It’s distracting you at concerts. It’s disrupting you in movie theaters. It’s clogging up sidewalks. Now, there is a real solution.

Of course, it doesn’t come with any specs at all, being battery free, but hey, it is shatterproof and waterproof; and I am pretty sure you can use it to kill cockroaches. But if this seems like not enough, you can always opt for a ‘real-time’ selfie upgrade (a mirror), which costs $18:

Enjoy sending yourself selfies in real-time. Share selfies with your friends if they’re standing behind you. Add a verbal hashtag by syncing your brain and vocal cords.

Also, each NoPhone comes in a white box with an instruction manual. I am sure you are dying to get one, so have a look at the video from below and decide how many are you going to buy.
