OnePlus managed to pull off the VR launch of its latest smartphone, the OnePlus 2, with reasonable success earlier today. Much to the horror of everyone watching the event, they left off a key element of any launch event – the price. Well, they have finally revealed it, and here is the price for OnePlus 2 in India – Rs. 22,999 for the 16GB variant and Rs.24,999 for the 64GB variant.

Despite expecting a much higher pricing for the OnePlus 2, the company has managed to surprise its customers with a nominal increase in price as compared to the OnePlus One which was launched late last year in India for Rs.21,999. Like last year, OnePlus will be partnering with Amazon India for the launch. The 64GB OnePlus 2 goes on sale on Aug 11th in the country, and invites should start rolling out before that. The 16GB variant will be launched later this year, and is expected to have just 3GB RAM.

OnePlus is also holding a pop-up experience event in Bangalore and New Delhi (along with 7 other cities across the world) on July 31st, where fans and prospective customers can go and experience the OnePlus 2 first hand.

The OnePlus 2 comes with top of the line specs like the latest 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor along with 4GB of DDR4 RAM, a fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, 13MP rear camera with 1.3micron sensor and more. The display though is stuck at 1080p unlike 2K (QHD) screens on most other flagship devices this year. The reasoning though is to have elongated battery life with 3300mAh battery packed in.
