Mobvoi – the company that makes the popular TicWatch – has today announced two new pairs of truly wireless earbuds, the TicPods 2 and the TicPods 2 Pro, at CES in Las Vegas. Considering the company launched its first pair of truly wireless earbuds back in 2018, the update was long due. And to compensate for the delay, it is offering not one, but two new pairs of earbuds. TicPods 2 and TicPods 2 Pro: Similarities

The TicPods 2 and TicPods 2 Pro both share a wide range of features in common. To being with, they come with the same onboard touch controls (on either of the earbud stems) that offer easy access to the voice assistant, along with the ability to quickly skip tracks or adjust the volume. Besides this, the two also come with support for AAC and aptX codecs for high-quality audio streaming. Among other things, there is support for Bluetooth, automatic media play/pause, quick-pairing, fast charging (with five minutes of charge offering one hour of listening) over USB-C, noise cancellation, along with IPX4 water resistance.

TicPods 2 and TicPods 2 Pro: Differences

Moving further and talking about the differences between the TicPods 2 and TicPods 2 Pro, the most essential of many, is that the TicPods 2 Pro comes with an advanced chipset, the Qualcomm QCC5121, compared to the Qualcomm QCC3026 on the TicPods 2. The Pro variant includes a dual-microphone array over the single-microphone array on the regular variant, and it offers comparatively more listening time than its counterpart. Besides this, the TicPods 2 Pro also comes with two distinct features: TicHear and TicMotion.

TicHear allows users to use quick commands to control audio with their voice. It is powered by Mobvoi’s in-house AI algorithms that cut out the wake-up word and make the interaction natural. Some of the supported quick commands include: Play Music, Pause Music, Next Song, Previous Song, Pick Up, and Hang Up.

On the other hand, TicMotion allows users to perform quick operations by nodding their heads. For this, the earbuds actively track users’ head movement to detect any head and neck motion so that they don’t have to manually activate it on their device. All they need to do is shake their head twice to pick up a call or shake twice to refuse one.

Mobvoi TicPods 2 and TicPods 2 Pro: Pricing and Availability

The Mobvoi TicPods 2 and TicPods 2 Pro come in three color options: Navy, Ice, and Blossom, and are priced at $99 and $139 respectively. Both earbuds are already up for sale, with a limited-time 10% discount available until January 15.
