Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S with Snapdragon 845 and Wireless Charging Support Launched in China

The first Xiaomi Mi Mix started its journey as a concept phone only to enter the productions soon. The Mi Mix was one of Xiaomi’s first smartphone to come equipped with a bezel-less display. After two iterations, today Xiaomi has launched the Mi Mix 2S at an event in Shanghai. As rumored earlier, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S comes powered by the latest Snapdragon chipset and the company is also offering an 8GB RAM variant. Xiaomi’s new Mi Mix 2S touts an AI-powered camera and will soon be getting an AR feature(based on Google’s AR Core)

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S comes equipped with a 6-inch FHD+ display. Design wise the new Mi Mix 2S borrows heavily from its predecessor. The curved ceramic back and the aluminum frame blend in beautifully and the display seem to sit flush within the panel with no inconsistencies whatsoever. Thankfully, Xiaomi has decided not to go for a front notch and this means that the front camera unit still sits in the bottom jaw of the screen. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 clocked at 2.8GHz with Adreno 630 and 8GB of RAM. On the storage front, the device offers up to 256GB of internal storage that is further expandable via the microSD card slot.

Camera options on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S include a new dual rear camera setup. The rear camera consists of a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens. This setup supports optical zoom, portrait mode, 4-axis optical image stabilization, dual-pixel autofocus and a hardware level multi-frame noise reduction. The Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2S scores an impressive 101 on the DxO score. Furthermore, the AI backed dual camera can detect 206 scenes across 25 categories and offers 6 customizable parameters for the portrait. The Mi Mix 2S is backed by a 3,400mAh battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S supports wireless charging and Xiaomi is bundling a free Mi wireless charger with the device. That being said the Mi wireless charger can also be purchased separately at just 99 Yuan ($15). Connectivity features on the Mi Mix 2S include the standard 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The device supports 226 regions worldwide with 6 modes and 43 bands.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Variants and Price

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is available in three variants. The 6GB+64GB is priced at 3,299 Yuan ($527/Rs 34,193), the 6GB+128GB variant is priced at 3,599 Yuan ($574/Rs 37,286) while the top of the line 8GB+256GB variant is priced at 3,999 Yuan ($638/Rs 41,409).
