Today, alongside the all-new Realme X3 series, which includes the Realme X3 and X3 SuperZoom, Realme has also announced another pair of truly wireless earbuds — its third offering in the TWS space. Called the Buds Q, the earbuds were unveiled in China last month, and have been designed by popular designer José Lévy. Let’s dive in to take a closer look at the specifications and features of the company’s latest offering.

Realme Buds Q: Design

To begin with, Realme says the design of the Buds Q is inspired by the cobble — colloquially referred to as small round stones. And, as already mentioned, have been designed by José Lévy. From the looks of it, the earbuds come with a round-curved design with silicone tips at the end, which is claimed to work in tandem with the curved design to aid with better isolation. The earbuds are IPX4 water-resistant and come in three colorways: Yellow, White, and Black.

Realme Buds Q: Internals

Moving to the internals, the Realme Buds Q comes with a 10mm dynamic driver that incorporates the PEEK&PU diaphragm. As per the company, the use of PEEK material allows the earbuds to offer better mid-to-high frequency sound while PU offers deep and powerful bass. Moreover, building upon the bass foundation, Realme is also bringing its own Dynamic Bass Boost (DBB) solution, which it suggests unlocks better bass and adds a dynamic signature to the sound.

When it comes to the codec, the Buds Q bring support for Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) codec, which happens to be a power-hungry codec with lossy audio compression. Talking about connectivity, the earbuds use Bluetooth 5.0 for connection and come with a low-latency gaming mode, which as per the company, reduces the latency by ~51% and only takes 119ms for audio transmission.

To power the internals, the Buds Q includes a 40mAh battery on each earbud and a 400mAh battery in the case. The charging case gets the earbuds 20 hours of usage, and charges over micro-USB — taking 2 hours to fully charge.

Realme Buds Q: Features

In terms of features, the Realme Buds Q offers the usual slate of features, such as –

1. Instant connection using the R1Q Chip
2. Touch controls – double-tap: answer calls/play, pause music; triple-tap: skip song; press and hold on one earbud for 2s: end call; press and hold on both earbuds for 2s: enter/exit gaming mode.
