Expanding its portfolio further, the company unveiled two more platforms on day two, the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 and the Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3, which will power upcoming premium and entry-level mobile PCs, respectively.
However, that’s not all; Qualcomm has two more major announcements at this year’s summit. One of these is a brand new gaming platform called Snapdragon G3x Gen 1, while the other is a handheld gaming developer kit developed in partnership with Razer.
Let’s dive in to learn more about the all-new Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Gaming Platform and the Snapdragon G3x Handheld Gaming Developer Kit in detail.
Snapdragon G3x Gen 1
Qualcomm says the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 is designed to offer “cutting-edge performance and the entire arsenal of Snapdragon Elite Gaming technologies to run all Android games, play cloud gaming libraries, stream games from a home console or PC, and enjoy entertainment from your favorite Android apps“.
It features a Qualcomm Kryo CPU and Adreno GPU. The Adreno GPU on the platform opens the door of opportunity to run games at ultra-smooth 144 frames per second and 10-bit HDR. In some cases, the GPU drivers are also updateable to optimize the gaming experience per requirement. On the whole, this processing prowess makes the platform ideal for native as well as cloud-based gaming.
Speaking of, when available, the platform will enable users to stream their favorite games from their favorite cloud-gaming platforms like Microsoft’s Game Pass Ultimate or the Steam library.
In terms of visuals, the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 brings support for up to 4K resolution @144fps. Plus, it also includes 10-bit HDR support to offer vivid colors and all-new haptics from Lofelt to make the overall experience even more engaging.
Lastly, to facilitate all of this, the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 comes with 5G connectivity, which expands the scope of use and offers the ability to stream PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Android games from anywhere.
