After impressing us with the premium OnePlus Pad 3, OnePlus has now come out with a tablet at the other end of the market, the rather appropriately named OnePlus Pad Lite. If the Pad 3 was aimed at those who wanted a tablet that could give a notebook a run for its money, the Pad Lite attempts to be the “big display that’s easy on the wallet.” Does it succeed? Read on.

OnePlus Pad Lite Design and Appearance: Sleek, but not as square as the others
OnePlus’ tablets have been notable for their almost square-ish shape, thanks to their 7:5 aspect ratio. The OnePlus Pad Lite, however, breaks this tradition – its 11-inch display has a more conventional 16:10 aspect ratio, which gives it a more rectangular look. At 166.5 mm, it seems a little on the smaller side in this age of massive tablets, but is slim enough at 7.4 mm and is not too heavy either at 530 grams.
The tablet comes in a single aero blue shade, with a subtle dual one – there is a slightly darker band on the left side. OnePlus has placed the rear camera in the centre of the left side, giving it a slightly different appearance from other tablets, which generally have cameras on the top left corner of their backs. The sides are fashionably straight, with volume buttons on the right, a power/display button on the top with speaker grilles and a SIM card slot, and a USB Type-C port on the base flanked by speaker grilles. The left side is plain. The front is a classic tall display with narrow (by tablet standards) bezels, and the selfie camera is placed in the centre of the right side. This is clearly a tablet that is designed to be best used in landscape mode.
All said and done, the OnePlus Pad Lite has a sleek, elegant feel to it. The back and frame are aluminium with a matte finish, giving it a very premium feel and keeping smudges at bay. It is not as spectacular as the shiny green variants of some OnePlus tablets, but it is quietly elegant, easy to carry, and has a reassuringly solid feel to it.
OnePlus Pad Lite Tech Specs: Solid budget segment innards

The OnePlus Pad Lite has a good spec sheet for its price. It comes with an 11-inch 1920 x 1200 resolution LCD display with a 90 Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the mid-segment MediaTek Helio G100 chip, and has two RAM variants (6 GB and 8 GB) with 128 GB of storage. Rather oddly at this price point, there is no provision for expandable storage. The rear and selfie cameras are both 5 megapixels each, while sound is handled by a quad speaker arrangement (although there is no 3.5 mm audio jack).
On the connectivity front, there is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and also an LTE variant. The tablet boasts a huge 9340 mAh battery with support for 33W charging, although it comes with only a 15W charger in the box. The OnePlus Pad Lite runs on OxygenOS 15.0.1 on top of Android 15, and OnePlus assured us that it will run smoothly for three years. It is a good spec sheet for the price.
OnePlus Pad Lite performance: Viewing ace, battery beast

The OnePlus Pad Lite is a terrific device for viewing content. The 11-inch display is impressively bright (peak brightness is 500 nits) and, in combination with the very good quad speaker arrangement, makes the tablet great for watching shows, films, and videos, as well as routine browsing, mailing, and messaging tasks, and the inevitable social media doomscrolling. The MediaTek Helio G100 is no gaming beast, but it will handle casual titles like Alto’s Odyssey and Candy Crush Saga without any trouble. You can even squeeze in some Call of Duty sessions if you turn down the graphics.
OxygenOS 15 runs very smoothly on the OnePlus Pad Lite and comes with hardly any bloatware. OnePlus has brought the Canvas tool to the tablet, allowing one to run two apps side by side on it – we found ourselves making notes on one side while researching on Chrome on the other. There is AI present, too, but in a relatively limited manner. One gets Gemini and AI Editor (including AI eraser, detail boost, unblur, and more), but there is surprisingly no Circle to Search. Mind you, this is not a tablet meant for AI, although Gemini functions smoothly, and even image editing can be done without a hitch. It would be great to see OnePlus bring its OnePlus AI suite in a lite form to the tablet in the coming days, but its absence is hardly a deal breaker.

In a neat touch, the OnePlus Pad Lite can connect to other OnePlus devices and mirror their displays (letting you view your phone’s content on a larger display). You can also sync content with them – we edited notes and saw them updated on our phone. A sentence about the cameras – they do not merit more than a sentence, with the rear being largely token and the front one useful only for video calls!
The battery is a star performer of the OnePlus Pad Lite. We easily got 12-14 hours of usage on a single charge, allowing us to comfortably go about a day and a half without worrying about recharging it. Charging it, however, can be a bit of a task – while it supports 33W charging, charging it using the 15W charger bundled with it can take more than two and a half hours. A 33W charger gets it from 0 to 100% in about an hour and a half, so we would recommend getting one.
OnePlus Pad Lite Pricing: Very competitive indeed

The OnePlus Pad Lite is available in two RAM and storage combinations at these prices:
- 6 GB/ 128 GB (Wi-Fi): Rs 13,999
- 8 GB/ 128 GB (LTE): Rs 15,999
At those prices, the OnePlus Pad Lite emerges as one of the best options out there for a tablet priced in the vicinity of Rs 15,000. Its biggest rival is likely to be the Redmi Pad 2, which runs on the same MediaTek Helio G100 chip. The Redmi Pad 2 starts at Rs 13,999 too, albeit for a 4 GB/ 128 Wi-Fi only model, but offers Wi-Fi and LTE at Rs 15,999 (6 GB/ 128 GB) and Rs 17,999 (8 GB/ 256 GB), and has a higher resolution display and also comes with stylus support, making it slightly more handy for the productivity crowd. Those who value stylus support might also be attracted to the Lenovo Tab M11, which comes with a packaged stylus for Rs 14,999, but is powered by the much slower MediaTek G88 processor. Lenovo also has the Tab Plus, which sports a larger 11.5-inch display at the same price (but without a stylus in the box), but again loses out in the processor department – it runs on a MediaTek G99. Both the Lenovo tablets have 4G connectivity at these prices.
OnePlus Pad Lite Review Verdict: Super deal for those seeking a streamer!

The OnePlus Pad Lite is a terrific deal for those who want a tablet mainly for streaming and viewing content. That bright display and great battery life make it the perfect additional large display that is easy to carry around. The only competition we can see for it is the very good Redmi Pad 2, whose stylus support might make it a little more appealing to the productivity crowd. But if you are the type that likes to watch more often than work on a tablet, then the OnePlus Pad Lite is about as good as it gets. It is great for viewing content, and is a smooth operator that, thanks to its massive battery, just goes on and on. Content consumers on a sub-Rs 15,000 budget should never settle for anything else.
