Xiaomi is today upgrading and adding a host of new products to its Mi Home ecosystem in India. Apart from the Mi Band 3 and three new Mi televisions, that includes the Mi Air Purifier 2S, a 360-degree security camera, and a pair of trolley suitcases. Here’s everything you need to know about them.
Mi Air Purifier 2S
The Mi Air Purifier was one of the first non-smartphone products Xiaomi brought to India and after a two-year lull, it’s finally being refreshed.
The new Mi Air Purifier 2S’ biggest highlight is the circular OLED screen present on the front so that you don’t have to pull out your phone every time you’d like to check on the air quality. The display can show several tidbits such as the atmospheric particulate matter (PM), temperature, humidity, and more. There’s an ambient sensor as well which allows the device to automatically adjust the screen’s brightness.
As for the internals, the Mi Air Purifier 2S comes with an improved three-layer filter which is capable of picking up minute particles like allergens, animal fur, formaldehyde, dust, pollen and cigarette smoke from its surroundings. It has a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) value of 310 meters/hour which is the same as the Mi Air Purifier 2. The coverage area remains identical too — 21-32 square meters. Xiaomi has also integrated the Mi Air Purifier 2S with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa so that you can command it with just your voice through any compatible device.
The Mi Air Purifier 2S is priced at Rs 8,999 and will be available from 28th September at noon from Mi.com, Amazon, and Flipkart. It will be later available from offline channels such as Mi Home as well.
Xiaomi Mi Home Security Camera
While the rest are simply upgrades to existing variants, the Mi Home security camera is one of the new additions to India’s Mi Home. The device can record and stream 100-degree videos at a maximum resolution of 1080p. But the key feature is its camera head which can be rotated by 360-degree. There are ten IR lights for enabling night vision and two-way audio is available as well. It can detect motion too and alert you through a notification from the app.
The security camera supports up to 64GB of MicroSD cards and connects to the Mi Home app on iOS and Android. It’s priced at Rs 2,699 and will go on sale from October 10th at midnight from Mi.com, Amazon, and Flipkart.
Mi Luggage
Xiaomi also launched its trolley suitcases in India today. The Mi Luggage features a scratch-resistant polycarbonate exterior and shock absorbent as well as waterproof wheels. There are two sizes — 20-inch and 24-inch with three color options including Red, Blue, and Grey. The 20-inch model costs Rs 2,999, while the 24-inch one is priced at Rs 4,299. Both will be available from October 10th at Midnight from Mi.com, Flipkart, and Amazon.
