Meizu 16T with Snapdragon 855 and Triple Rear Cameras Launched in China
Meizu has just announced its latest smartphone in China, the 16T. The company’s VP posted an image last week, which already highlighted the presence of a triple camera setup (in vertical alignment) on the rear and a possibility of an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Meizu 16T: Design and Display
The Meizu 16T features an all-glass design and comes in three colors: Green, Orange, and Blue. It has a glass back on the rear and a 6.5-inch (2232 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ Super AMOLED display. The display offers up to 600 nits of brightness and supports 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. Since there is no fingerprint scanner on the rear, the display has a Super mTouch in-display fingerprint scanner integrated into the display for authentication, which, according to the company, takes only 0.2 seconds to unlock the device.
Meizu 16T: Performance
At its core, the 16T comes with an octa-core Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU running under the hood, paired with 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. To power everything, the device has a 4500mAh, which comes with 18W mCharge fast charging support to offer faster-charging speeds. Further, the 16T comes with Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, USB Type-C, dual stereo speakers, 3.5mm audio jack, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
On the software front, the phone runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) out of the box, with the company’s FlymeOS 7 on top. It is expected to get an upgrade to FlymeOS 8 sometime soon.
Meizu 16T: Camera
For optics, the Meizu 16T sports a triple camera setup with LED flash on the rear, aligned vertically, which includes a 12MP primary Sony IMX362 sensor with f/1.9 aperture, a 5MP secondary Samsung 5E9 sensor with f/1.9 aperture, and an 8MP 118° ultra-wide lens with Samsung 4H7 sensor with f/2.2 aperture. Towards the front, it has a 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and face unlock.
