The Redmi Note lineup of devices is extremely popular in the Rs 15k (~$200) segment in India and that’s evident with the fact that the Note 9 series is here less than five months since the Note 8 Pro’s launch. However, this time there’s a newer Max variant which is the flagship Note in the series and one that most of us are looking forward to. Let’s take a look at what the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has to offer.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max comes in three color variants – Interstellar Black, Glacier White, and Aurora Blue. The back is made up of Gorilla Glass 5 and houses four cameras in a square formation. The primary shooter is a 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor accompanied by a wide-angle lens, a macro lens, and a depth sensor.
On the front is a 6.67-inch Full HD IPS display with a punch-hole camera for selfies rated at 32MP. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner instead of a rear-mounted one that we’ve been seeing till now. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max retains all your essential I/O in the form of a USB-C port, a headphone jack, an IR blaster, and a triple slot for two SIMs and a dedicated SD card.
On the inside is the Snapdragon 720G chipset which might seem inferior to the G90T on the Note 8 Pro on paper, but it does bring in some CPU-related improvements which you can read about in our detailed article. The SoC brings with it support for NavIC which has been talked about a lot recently. The Note 9 Pro Max gets a 5020mAh battery which is the largest we’ve seen on a Redmi Note device till date. There’s support for 33W fast charging and the adaptor is included within the box. This also makes it the fastest charging Redmi Note smartphone.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max will come with a base RAM configuration of 6GB along with 64GB of onboard storage and will go on sale on 25th March exclusively on Amazon at a starting price of Rs. 14,999. The 6GB/128GB version is priced at Rs 16,999 and the 8GB/128GB version is priced at Rs 18,999. More details about the launch offers will be announced on 16th March 2020.
