The Logitech MX Master 3S is the latest addition to the MX Master series of wireless peripherals. It is an ergonomic mouse designed for productivity. This versatile mouse is available in two colors: Pale Gray and Graphite. We have been using the Graphite version for over three months, and it has become a part of our daily workflow.
We have used the Logitech MX Master 3S for work, gaming, video editing, and much more. In this article, we’ll share our thoughts on the mouse after using it extensively as the primary mouse for all of our devices, including laptops, desktops, and tablets. Let’s get started.
Logitech MX Master 3S Review: Designed to Be Ergonomic
The Logitech MX Master 3S fits perfectly in the hand and offers a comfortable grip for long hours of work. The mouse is coated with a rubber-like surface that provides grip but can get a little sticky over time if you have sweaty hands. The dust has accumulated on our unit over time, and it also has some oil residue, which is evident by the matte rubber coating.
The Logitech MX Master 3S is a very comfortable mouse overall, but it is quite heavy compared to other mice of similar caliber, so it took us a while to get used to the weight of the Logitech G102 we used before.
All the buttons on the MX Master 3S are strategically placed to make them as comfortable as possible. The biggest highlight is the infinite scroll wheel, which has two mechanisms. In a free-flowing mode, you can use the scroll wheel to scroll effortlessly through long pages and documents. The second step mode allows you to scroll slowly through pages, with each step being a click.
The best thing about this scroll wheel is that it can seamlessly switch between step and free-flow modes, giving you the best scrolling experience. There is also a smooth side scroll wheel that helps with horizontal scrolling. There is also a button that allows you to lock the scroll wheel between automatic and free-flow mode.
There is a gesture button that sits under your thumb, and the side buttons are also quite tactile. The left and right clicks are quiet and very responsive. Overall, the Logitech MX Master 3S is so well made that it’s hard to switch to another mouse.
Logitech MX Master 3S: Tracks Well and Stays Connected
The Logitech MX Master 3S can be used in three modes: Dongle mode, Bluetooth mode, and Wired mode. The primary method of use is dongle mode.
The mouse comes with a bolt-on USB receiver, but there is no place to store it in the mouse itself. That being said, the MX Master 3S can be connected to three devices simultaneously and can switch between all three with the press of a button. The dongle connection is theoretically the most stable option. But, we had no problems with the Bluetooth connection either when we used the MX Master 3S with our laptop and tablet. There is also no latency, making it a reliable mouse that can be used in all scenarios.
The Logitech MX Master 3S uses a high-precision darkfield sensor that can switch between 200 and 8000 DPI. The DPI levels can be set in steps of 50 DPI in the Logitech Options Plus application. The sensor is very precise and responsive. Although it is not intended for gaming, we played CS2 and The Finals with it on occasion, and it captured every quick movement even better than our cheap gaming mouse. The sensor works on any surface and can be used on the bed, dining table, or work desk without any problems.
Overall, the Logitech MX Master 3S is a very reliable mouse for any type of work, but we don’t recommend using it to play fast-paced shooting games as the switches are not suitable for this.
Logitech MX Master 3S: Powerful Software and Endurance
The MX Master 3S can be customized with the Logi Option Plus software. You can check the battery life and customize all the buttons and shortcuts of the mouse with this software. The Logitech MX Master 3S comes with pre-set shortcuts and macros for various programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Google Chrome, Microsoft Office Apps, etc., which you can also customize according to your needs. You can even change the scroll speed, DPI and check the number of devices you are currently paired with. The combination of the Logi Option Plus software and the insane customization options it offers is a huge plus point of the Logitech MX Master 3S.
In terms of battery life, a full charge of the Logitech MX Master 3S will last you about 3-4 months, depending on how long you use the mouse. We charged the mouse once when we got it in October, and it’s still running after 3 months with a 50% charge remaining.
The 3S can be charged via the USB Type-C port, and a USB Type-C cable is included. You can count on the Logitech MX Master 3S to last a while, but the battery life changes depending on the connection mode between the Bolt Receiver and Bluetooth.
Logitech MX Master 3S Review Verdict: The Best in the Business
It’s not that the MX Master 3S is without flaws. The mouse is primarily designed for right-handed users, so if you’re left-handed, you should look for a different mouse. Although the MX Master 3S is suitable for casual gamers, it’s not optimized for competitive gaming due to its heavy weight, lower polling rate and a sensor designed for precision rather than speed. But for everyone else, there’s not much to complain about.

The Logitech MX Master 3S is the best mouse you should get if you want to make the most of your time. With all the customization options and shortcuts, the MX Master 3S saves us a lot of time and makes it much easier to work on the things we love. It comes with a 1-year warranty, which should cover any issues that arise within that period, although we haven’t heard of any problems with the mouse from users. It is a versatile device and, in our opinion, a worthwhile investment.
