AMD has officially confirmed that its RDNA 3 portfolio has been completed with the launch of the RX 7700XT and RX 7800XT, but based on recent leaks, AMD seems to have another secret GPU up its sleeve. It’s the RX 7600XT, the more powerful twin of the RX 7600, and AMD could launch this card as early as the last week of January, closing the gap between the RX 7600 and RX7700XT. The most interesting thing about this is that the RX 7600XT could be equipped with 16 gigabytes of VRAM, which could play a major role in extending the life of the GPU.

AMD Radeon RX 7600XT Leaks Rumours

If you want to know more about the RX 7600XT, we’ve gathered all the leaks and rumors from around the web and put together this blog to tell you more about the RX 7600XT and how it could be AMD’s trump card if priced right. We’ll also be covering the RX 7700 and RX 7800, how AMD might incorporate these cards into the current lineup of RDN3 GPUs, and whether or not they will even exist.

While Nvidia seems to be focusing on the launch of the RTX 4070 Super and 4080 Super and trying to improve some of the expensive models of the 40 series GPUs, AMD has taken a different approach and introduced a budget or mid-range GPU for gamers. According to an EEC filing from Gigabyte, there could be two variants of the RX 7600XT, an OC variant and a non-OC variant, both equipped with 16 GB of VRAM.

More memory buffer is always better. As games require more and more VRAM, 16 GB of VRAM could also make the card more future-proof compared to the RX 7600 with 8 GB. AMD should opt for a wider memory bus (256 bit) and a PCIe interface with 16 lanes. This would be very effective and could shake up the 300 to 400 USD market.

However, a 128-bit bus will likely be used to place the card just below the RX 7700XT and above the RX 7600, making it a perfect fit for the RDNA3 lineup. In terms of performance, the card could be better than the previous generation RX 6750XT but worse than the current generation RX 7700XT, so that it would be very similar to a 3070Ti in terms of performance.

RX 7600XT, RX7700 and RX7800: The RDNA 3 Lineup is Already Completed

AMD has already mentioned that the RDNA 3 lineup is complete with the launch of the RX 7800XT and 7700XT. So it is more likely that there will be no new “Navi” silicon, as there is a pretty big gap between the $250 RX 7600 and the $450 7700XT.

AMD could go one of two ways: either an RX7600XT with a slightly overclocked Navi 33 die (like the RX 7600), with a larger memory bandwidth (256 bits) and 16 gigabytes of VRAM with 16 PCIe lanes, or they could go a different route and place the card directly below the RX 7700XT, giving us an underclocked Nav 32 die (similar to the RX 7700XT) with a normal 128-bit bus and 8 PCIe lanes.

It would be interesting to see how AMD could place this chip in the current RDNA3 lineup. Now, let’s turn to the rumors about the RX 7700 and RX 7800. VIDEOCARDZ.com has discovered that an AMD partner, Arktek, has listed the RX 7700 and RX 7800 with the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission). The company has very little presence worldwide, and EEC registrations do not always mean that the product actually exists.

We also have to consider that the introduction of the RX 7700 and RX 7800 could complicate the positioning of the RDNA 3 lineup, as there is already only a $50 difference between the RX 7800XT and the RX 7700XT, and AMD says it only wants to do something about the $300 to $400 gap, as there is no current 7000 series GPU to fill it.

RX 7600XT: Release Date and Expected Pricing

The AMD Radeon RX 7600XT could finally be the last GPU in the current RDNA 3 lineup, and it could also be the last weapon in AMD’s arsenal to take on the competition. With the current leaks and speculation, we could see the RX 7600XT being a great option if AMD could offer it at a good price, and in our opinion, it should land somewhere between $300 and $400. this makes perfect sense because with new AAA titles requiring more and more VRAM, a GPU with 16GB of VRAM under 400 USD could be Nvidia’s biggest nightmare.

According to Benchlife, AMD plans to release the RX 7600XT as early as the third week of January, on January 24, to be exact. It is important to note that there will be no reference cards from AMD, only cards from AMD’s board partners, such as MSI, Gigabyte, and Asus. Many AMD board partners seem to be happy about this decision, but it also means that many testers will only be testing custom cards.

The 7000 Series is Completed, but don’t forget the 6000 Series

When AMD launches the RX 7600XT, which they should do soon, the AMD Radeon RX 7000 GPU series will finally be complete. AMD could offer a GPU for every price point, from the budget category with the RX 7600 to the mid-range with the RX 7600XT, to the high-end PCs with the RX 7700XT and RX 7800XT, to the premium desktops with the RX 7900 and RX 7900XT. This would allow AMD to cover almost every category from 240 USD to 1000 USD while offering great hardware and software tricks like AMD FSR 3.0 with its version of Frame Gen.

With the 7000 series, AMD could offer the best of its arsenal but not the best price/performance ratio that the previous 6000 series had to offer. Cards like the RX 6600 and 6600XT are still the budget kings, and cards like the 6700XT and 6750XT have also aged like fine wine, especially considering that the prices have dropped significantly from their original MSRP. Not to be forgotten are the RX 6800 and 6800XT, which are strong competitors to the RX 7700XT and 7800XT and even perform better in some scenarios. And let’s not forget the second-hand market, where you can buy last-generation GPUs at a hefty discount if you waive the manufacturer’s warranty.
