What’s Changed on the OnePlus 6T from the OnePlus 6
If we have to be concise, the display now has a smaller water drop notch with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 under which lies the fingerprint scanner with OnePlus’ ‘Screen Unlock’ technology, the battery is bumped up to 3700mAh, the headphone jack is gone, there are some new camera modes, and it’s now pricier. What are some key specifications of the OnePlus 6T?
The main highlight of the OnePlus 6T is the new 6.41-inch Full HD+ display with the water drop notch and in-display fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, there’s a Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The rear cameras are 16MP and 20MP along with an aperture of f/1.7 on the primary lens. The front facing shooter is also rated at 16MP. The battery is a generous 3700mAh unit with support for fast charging.
What software does the OnePlus 6T run on?
The OnePlus 6T runs on the latest version of Android, Pie. OxygenOS, OnePlus’ custom UI closely resembles stock Android with a few nifty tricks that enhance the user experience. This also makes the OnePlus 6T one of the first few phones to be running Android 9 Pie out of the box.
Are there multiple variants of the device that will go on sale?
Yes, the OnePlus 6T will be sold in 3 variants. The base variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, mid variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage and the top-end model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Does the OnePlus 6T have a headphone jack?

Yes, the already small display notch can be hidden from the settings menu.
Do screen protectors/tempered glasses affect the under-display fingerprint scanner’s performance?
The OnePlus 6T comes with a pre-installed screen protector which does not interfere in any way with the fingerprint scanner. Third-party tempered glasses shouldn’t ideally affect the performance either. But you need to choose smarter.
Will the fingerprint scanner performance be affected if your display gets scratched/shattered?
According to OnePlus, a few light scratches or minor cracks will not affect the performance of the fingerprint scanner performance.
