It is not uncommon for us to be treated with image leaks and information about the upcoming phones as we inch towards MWC 2016. Samsung has been unveiling its flagships at the MWC from quite some time and this time around it will be the Galaxy S7. We have heard about the debate if the Galaxy S7 will be powered by both the Snapdragon and the Exynos SoCs or will the company stick to just the in-house Exynos like last year.
That apart the latest leak seems to inadvertently point at the possibility that Samsung Galaxy S7 might be waterproof just like it was the case with Galaxy S5. The unlisted Indonesian commercial called “Get ready for the #TheNextGalaxy” shows off the device being used by an athlete and the video starts getting interesting when it shows off the Indonesian archer Dellie Threesyadinda training in the rain. In the due course of the video there has been no mention of the phones model which in all likelihood points at the upcoming Galaxy S7.
Another takeaway from the video is the wireless charging feature. Samsung’s own teaser website echoes with the findings as it includes a page with bubbles with caption “worry-less discovery”. The other pictures are captioned “experience privacy at its finest” which hints at additional security features and “bring light to the night” which seems to point at an improvised low light photography.
Samsung is buckled up to unveil the Galaxy S7 at 1PM ET this Sunday February 21 at the MWC in Barcelona. The South Korean company will also be pulling the wraps from the Galaxy S7 Edge. It will be interesting to watch if Samsung will bring back waterproofing and expandable memory card slot, features it decided to ditch in the Galaxy S6 back to the S7.
