ZTE Axon 7 has been making some noise in US ever since its launch thanks to its impeccable price to performance ratio – leveling the likes of OnePlus 3 and Xiaomi Mi5. Now the Chinese multinational smartphone brand has launched its ZTE Axon Mini and Blade V6 smartphones in India.

For starters, it’s worth noting that the ZTE Axon Mini was launched towards the end of the last year and was among the first phones to come with the much touted 3D/Force Touch (or whatsoever you may call it) feature. The Axon Mini is in fact a part of the Axon Elite, Axon Pro and Axon Max lineup, so it’s quite disappointing to see ZTE delay the India launch. That said, the ZTE Axon Mini marks the entry of the company’s Axon lineup of phone in the country, thereby making us believe that we may end up seeing more phone with this branding.

Coming to the specs, the ZTE Axon comes with an all metal unibody design similar to one found in their Axon Elite. It is however the most compact Axon device sporting a 2.5D Curved 5.2 inch FHD Super AMOLED upfront. Carved out of aircraft grade aluminium, the ZTE Axon Mini sports a Snapdragon 616 octa core chip under hood alongside an Adreno 405 GPU. That aside, the smartphone sports 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage along with room for memory expansion.

ZTE however is touting the triple layer of security on the Axon Mini – Fingerprint, Iris Scan and Voice detection. The variant of the smartphone launched in India however misses out on the 3D touch capabilities. In terms of camera the Axon Mini features a 13MP+2MP dual rear and 8MP front snapper. Besides that, it comes with a non-removable 2800mAH battery. The Axon Mini is priced at Rs 23,599, which looks rather steep for an year old device.

The ZTE Blade V6 on the other hand is a budget smartphone priced at Rs 9,999. It comes with a 5 inch IPS HD display upfront and is powered by a Mediatek 6735 SoC with four cores clocked at 1.3GHz. Apart from that it comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras. ZTE has also included a 2200mAH battery inside the 6.8mm slim aluminium body.

The ZTE Axon Mini and Axon Mini runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 and 5.0 respectively and is available for sale in the country starting today.
