Huawei Unveils Enjoy 8 Lineup of Mid-Range Smartphones with 18:9 Display in China

by: - Last updated on: March 30th, 2018

Leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei has launched three new budget to mid-range devices in its homeland. All three smartphones belong to Huawei’s Enjoy series of devices, and except for one, the other two are currently available for sale in China. This new lineup of smartphones includes the Huawei Enjoy 8, Huawei Enjoy 8 Plus and Huawei Enjoy 8e.

Huawei Enjoy 8 Specs Price Availability

Among the trio, the Huawei Enjoy 8 Plus is the costliest and powerful smartphone. The Huawei Enjoy 8e, on the other hand, is the cheapest. It, however, yet to go on a sale in China, unlike its other two siblings. The all-new Enjoy 8 series of smartphones aren’t completely new though. The Huawei Enjoy 8 and Enjoy 8 Plus were incidentally launched earlier in Thailand as the Y7 Prime (2018) and Y9 (2018) respectively.

Despite having the plus moniker, the Huawei Enjoy 8 Plus isn’t the largest device among the three. It sports a 5.93-inch FHD+ display which interestingly is slightly smaller than the 5.99-inch panel found in the Enjoy 8. Underneath the hood is a Hi-Silicon Kirin 659 processor that is apparently Huawei’s chip of choice for a number of its mid-range offerings including the Honor 7X and the recently unveiled Huawei P20 Lite.

Both the Huawei Enjoy 8e and the Enjoy 8 Plus come with a metal unibody construction. The standard Enjoy 8, on the other hand, features a layer of glass on both sides on top of the metallic chassis. Instead of using its own processor in all the Enjoy series of smartphones, Huawei opted for using Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chip in the Enjoy 8 and Enjoy 8e.

The Huawei Enjoy 8 comes in two variants, one with 3GB RAM priced at 1,299 Yuan ($207/Rs 13,500) and other with 4GB RAM at 1,499 Yuan ($238/Rs 15,500). The smaller yet powerful Enjoy 8 Plus, on the other hand, is priced at 1,699 Yuan ($270/Rs 17,700) and 1,899 Yuan ($303/Rs 19,700) for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 4GB RAM/128GB storage variants respectively. Furthermore, Huawei is yet to release any information regarding the price of the cheaper Enjoy 8e yet.
