Vivo Z6 5G with Snapdragon 765G and 48MP Quad Cameras Announced
One of the first phones with Snapdragon 765G
After teasing the smartphone for a few days, Vivo has today announced its latest mid-range offering, the Vivo Z6 5G, in its home market, China. Besides 5G connectivity, the phone brings along a Snapdragon 765G SoC, quad rear cameras, and a mammoth 5000mAh battery with 44W ultra-fast charging. Let’s dive in and check out other specifications for the handset in detail.
Vivo Z6 5G: Design and Display
In terms of design, the Z6 5G features a 3D curved design with a fingerprint scanner and a rectangular camera module on the rear. Towards the front, it has a 6.57-inch IPS LCD display that offers a 90.74% screen-to-body ratio with a 20:9 aspect ratio and an FHD+ resolution. The device also has a hole-punch cutout on the top right of the display for housing the front-facing camera, and it comes in three different color options: Ice Age, Interstellar Silver, and Aurora Black.
Vivo Z6 5G: Performance
At its core, the Vivo Z6 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 765G processor with Adreno 620 GPU, similar to the Realme X50 5G announced last month, which is an octa-core chipset based on the 7nm manufacturing process, specifically meant with gaming into consideration. The phone comes with 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage (expandable with a microSD card). And it has a massive 5000mAh battery to power the internals, with 44W ultra-fast charging support, which promises to charge the battery up to 70% in 35 minutes and 100 percent in around 65 minutes. The ‘G’ suffix in the chipset’s moniker suggests that the device comes with gaming as its USP, for which, it comes with enhancement features like Multi-Turbo 3.0, Game Space 3.0, Game Box, and liquid cooling.
Among other things, the handset includes support for dual-mode 5G connectivity (SA/ NSA), dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, and NFC. Furthermore, it offers an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication, USB Type-C, and runs on Funtouch OS 10 based on Android 10 out of the box.
Vivo Z6 5G: Camera
For optics, the Z6 5G sports a quad-camera setup on the rear, with an LED flash. The setup includes a 48MP primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture, accompanies by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.25 aperture and 112-degree FoV, a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the phone has a 16MP camera, housed within the hole-punch cutout, for selfies.
