At its global ecosystem event launch last month, Xiaomi announced a range of products for the European and (UK) market. Of these products, the one that caught a lot of attention was the Mi TV Stick, which offers Full HD streaming and a voice remote. And now, the company is bringing the same to the Indian market, to compete with the popular streaming device in the country, the Amazon Fire TV Stick. The latest offering from Xiaomi joins the Mi Box 4K in its IoT lineup. Here’s a look at the specifications for the Mi TV Stick.

Mi TV Stick: Specifications

Similar to the global variant, the Indian variant of the Mi TV Stick also follows the same approach to design, with a design that resembles the Fire TV Stick from Amazon. The TV Stick is light, coming in at 28.5g, and pocketable. At its core, the device runs on Cortex A53, quad-core processor, with ARM Mali-450 GPU for graphics processing. It employs 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. For connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.2. Moreover, it includes 1x HDMI and 1x micro-USB port. The Stick runs on Android TV 9.0.

Talking about features, the Mi TV Stick comes with support for Dolby Audio (and DTS), along with support for H.265, H.264, VC-1, MPEG1/2/4, and other video codecs. It can play videos in 1080p at 60fps. Additionally, it offers built-in Chromecast functionality and provides a voice remote with support for Google Assistant and hotkeys for different services such as Netflix, Prime Video, Google Assistant for quick access. Not to mention, the TV Stick also offers the ability to download apps via PlayStore, with a selection of over 5000 apps to choose from.

Mi TV Stick: Pricing and Availability

The Mi TV Stick is available in Black color. It is priced at Rs 2,799, which is on the lower side when compared to the Amazon Fire TV Stick that comes for Rs 3,999. The TV Stick is scheduled for its first sale on August 7, noon, and will be available across Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores.
