A few days back, most of the essential specifications about the upcoming Zenfone 7 were out, revealing details about the display, camera setup, and the possible chipset. Running up to the launch, today, Asus has globally announced the Zenfone 7 series. The series includes two smartphones: Zenfone 7 and Zenfone 7 Pro, with the biggest highlight being the flip camera setup that doubles as a front-facing camera. Here’s a closer look at the specifications for both the devices.

Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro: Design and Display
In terms of design, both Zenfone 7 and Zenfone 7 Pro appear to have a similar design, with a glass back covered in Gorilla Glass 3 and a flip camera module that doubles as a front-facing camera. Towards the front, there is a 6.67-inch AMOLED Full View display (with no notch) and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display also supports HDR 10+ and comes with Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro come in two colors: Aurora Black and Pastel White.
Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro: Performance
Under the hood, the vanilla Zenfone 7 runs on the Snapdragon 865 chipset, which is built on the 7nm process and comes with up to 2.84GHz clock speed, not to mention it has the Adreno 650 GPU for graphics processing. On the other hand, the Pro variant, the Zenfone 7 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 865 Plus, which offers up to 3.1GHz of clock speed and the Adreno 650 GPU. To aid the processor, the phones come with 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage (expandable up to 2TB with a microSD card). The Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro include a 5000 mAh battery for powering the internals with support for 30W Asus HyperCharge, 27W Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0, USB Power Delivery 3.0 charging. On the software side, the devices run on ZenUI 7 based on Android 10 out of the box.
As for other specifications, both phones come with 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC. They also have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for authentication along with facial recognition.
Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro: Camera
In the camera department, both Asus Zenfone 7 and Zenfone 7 Pro sport a triple-camera setup, which flips and doubles as a front-facing camera. However, there is a slight difference in the specifications. The vanilla Zenfone 7 comes with a 64MP (f/1.8) primary (Sony IMX686) sensor with PDAF accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide-angle (Sony IMX363) lens with dual PDAF and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. On the other hand, the Zenfone 7 Pro also shares the same lens, except it includes support for OIS on the primary and tertiary (telephoto) lens.
Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro: Pricing and Availability
The Asus Zenfone 7 comes in two configurations: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB, priced at NT$ 21,990 (~ US$750 / Rs 55,477) and NT$ 23,990 (~US$ 818 / Rs 60,500), whereas the Zenfone 7 Pro comes in only one configuration: 8GB + 256GB, priced at NT$ 27,990 (~ US$ 955 / Rs 70,900). As for availability, the phones will first go on sale in Asus’ home country, Taiwan, starting August 26.
