At its Galaxy Awesome Unpacked event today, Samsung has unveiled its latest smartphones for the year. These offerings belong to the A-series lineup and are a part of their mid-range offerings. Called the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72, both smartphones feature a quad-camera array on the rear, a hole-punch display, and run on Android 11. In addition to the two smartphones, there is also a 4G variant of the Galaxy A52. Let’s dive in to learn more specifications of these devices.

Design and Display
To start with, the Galaxy A52 (4G and 5G) and the Galaxy A72 both feature a similar design language — a plastic back encased in a plastic frame. All three models come with IP67 water and dust resistance and have a rectangular camera module on the rear.
Moving to the front, the Galaxy A52 has a 6.5-inch display, while the Galaxy A72 sports a bigger 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display. The display on all three models offers an FHD+ screen resolution, with the Galaxy A52 (4G) and the Galaxy A72 offering a 90Hz refresh rate and the Galaxy A52 (5G) coming in with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones run on an (unspecified) octa-core processor, coupled with 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of onboard storage, expandable up to 1TB with a microSD card. To power the internals, there is a 4500mAh battery on both the Galaxy A52 models and a slightly bigger 5000mAh battery on the Galaxy A72 — all with support for 25W fast charging.
As for other specifications, except for 5G connectivity on the Galaxy A52 (5G variant), all models come with support for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0. And, they come with an on-screen fingerprint scanner for authentication. On the software front, the devices run on OneUI 3.1 based on Android 11 out of the box.
In the camera department, both Samsung Galaxy A52 models and the Galaxy A72 smartphones sport a quad-camera setup on the rear with an LED flash. This setup includes a 64MP (f/1.8) primary sensor accompanied by a 12MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 5MP (f/2.4) macro lens, and a 5MP (f/2.4) depth lens on the Galaxy A52 and an 8MP (f/2.4) telephoto lens on the Galaxy A72. On the front, all three models come with a 32MP snapper.
