AI is predicted to make many people jobless by automating many tasks, but there is another side to the coin. Many people believe that AI can make you more productive, simplify your work, automate the most tedious tasks in daily life, and save you plenty of time for more valuable tasks.

Use AI Tools for Interview Preparation

It’s not easy to describe losing a job. It is a constant process, and the one who wins this race is the one who uses AI for better work. Now, we have more AI options than ever to make your work easier, whether coding or writing an email, writing an essay, or even photo editing. AI also significantly impacts learning, especially by bringing personalized learning experiences based on your unique learning style and knowledge.

Apart from writing, I spend most of my time learning product management. However, things have drastically changed compared to when I started learning product management two years ago.

Now, I can understand concepts quickly with plenty of tools and resources. I challenged myself with a new task every single day and learned concepts without requiring professional guidance. All thanks to AI. I believe I have Einstein in my pocket. So today, I will share if you are a learning student as someone who is attending the interviews or preparing for your interview process.

I know the struggle. Sometimes, you feel overwhelmed by the concepts, forget to recall the information, and struggle to answer interview questions; you are not alone. I have been there plenty of times, but this time, your next interview might be different; you can enhance your approach to learning and revising interview concepts and get the dream job you are waiting for.

No, I am not exaggerating things; I believe AI can significantly help you to be 10x better than you already are today. If you are preparing for an interview and have an interview in the coming days, here is how to use AI tools to perform better at an interview. You might even crack it and get your dream job.

Some people believe AI applications are mostly paid and are generally not for regular users. Many free alternatives, like ChatGPT, are also available as a free version. So, how can you use AI to enhance your skills?

Before preparing, you need a proper plan to start the interview preparation process. If you are a beginner, preparing a plan might usually take significant time and deep research to create your interview preparation plan. Still, with the help of AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, you can remove the burden and generate a personalized preparation plan in minutes.

Generating Your Interview Preparation Plan Using AI Tools

One of the biggest bottlenecks for someone preparing for an interview or a course is they don’t know where to start. This is especially true for a beginner or someone unfamiliar with the job skills.

We can use AI to overcome this. First, AI cannot do everything, but it can give you a detailed overview of your preparation plan, including the concepts and time required to learn. For example, if you are preparing for a software interview, you can ask ChatGPT to create a 100-day, seven-day, 10-day plan based on your time and resources. Depending on your goals, the AI will generate a detailed learning plan. It is just the beginning of your journey.

My 30 day interview preparation plan

The biggest advantage of this AI is asking to teach you the concepts. For instance, to learn Product Management, I took a 100-day challenge. I prompted AI to create a 100-day plan and teach me the concepts daily. Every day, I open the chat and ask AI to teach the concepts for the day. Example: Day 4 of learning Product Management, explain all the concepts I need to learn today.

Plus, the best part of AI is you can continue the conversation. If you don’t understand any concept, you can ask questions and challenge yourself with real-world problems. You can find the latest information regarding the concept using the search the internet feature.

You can start learning without the need for professional guidance. If you are already familiar with the concepts, you can ask ChatGPT to create a detailed interview preparation plan and start learning from day one.

If you are someone in the earliest stage as a student or someone in your college, this is a great opportunity to use AI to learn and understand your concepts deeply, and your personal learning experience can make you learn in your own way.

Get Personalized Learning

Equality vs Equity in education

Do you remember a picture that highlights the differences between equality and equity? This is very true regarding education; Creating equity in education requires a lot of resources. For example, a school teacher or a professor at your school cannot understand your needs and tailor your learning experience for each student.

This is where AI can understand you better than anyone. Spending a little time with it offers a personalized learning experience to help you understand things better and more efficiently and break down even complex tasks. Plenty of AI tools can offer you a better-personalised learning experience.

If you are solving a math problem or preparing for a Data Structure interview and are stuck at specific logic. No worries. AI can help you.

Just enter the prompt that says: Explain to me about this [concept] in simple words like I am a [x] year old.  Before that, ask ChatGPT or any AI tool you use to ask questions to understand your learning style so that AI can tailor your learning experience. You can describe in a prompt what type of output you want from the AI. This is called prompt engineering, where you tell what you must do to get better output from the AI.

Prompt Engineering Tutorial – Master ChatGPT and LLM Responses

There are free courses out there. If you can spend time, I highly recommend you spend 30 to 45 minutes first understanding how to use AI tools and LLMs to get better output in the future.

You can use ChatGPT or Google Gemini. In my experience, ChatGPT is better at personal learning experiences. You can start with your free plan and opt for a premium. This is not a sponsor. This is based on my one year of experience using both ChatGPT and Gemini models, and the latest Gemini model 2.5 is also really good. I have used both AI models for years, and ChatGPT gives more personal experience. Recently, Gemini 2.5 has been almost equal and better at answering questions than GPT.

Google gemini breaking down complex topics

You can upload a PDF on any open-source book you can find online. You can ask AI to explain the concept in simple words, and you will have everything AI explains for you with a simple step-by-step process like a five-year-old or two-year-old kid.

This is a game changer, especially while learning new concepts. For example, I am completely new to the Java program, and ChatGPT has made my learning piece stress-free and easy to understand.

AI can be your complete personal assistant, learning personal friend assistant, or virtual professor. It can help you understand every concept more precisely and easily without waiting for professional help.

Create Mind-Maps

Mind maps can be a helpful method to recall information from your learned concepts quickly. This is especially useful for users preparing for interviews.

There are plenty of concepts we need to learn and store in our brains to remember those concepts, so having a mind map can easily help you recall the information quickly before the interview. I used to create a mind map manually using my iPad, but thanks to AI, which uses free tools like Google Notebook LLM, you can quickly summarize the concepts and create visualized mind maps.

You can also convert the guide into a podcast-like audio conversation where two people discuss the concepts. This is a game changer, especially if you like the audio rather than the text, like quick book summary podcasts. This is a great option. You can convert any document or content into audio discussion to help you understand the concept better with deep conversations. This has also been made into Gemini recently, but it is also available as a stand-alone feature in the Notebook LLM.

Interactive mind-map Google Notebook LLM

The audio overviews are only available in English, and it does an incredible job of grabbing and explaining the concept. For example, we created an audio podcast for the Google Pixel 7 review. In a recent update, Google has mind maps to help you quickly create iterative mind maps for the concept you are learning to understand. The best part is that instead of the static image, you can interact with the mind map, further break it down into multiple mind maps, and learn about each concept in the mind map easily.

For example, I am a Product Management interview learning experience. I wanted to learn about the user journey and wanted a map to help me remember the concepts easily. For instance, the goal and objectives of the map are divided into different minds, including the long-term, motivational action. You can further divide this mind and get detailed information about each concept.

You can also download the mind map for offline reference and recall the information whenever you need. You can also add multiple sources and store all information. The tool can be your digital notebook for creating mind maps for all your interview concepts so you can recall information quickly.

To create mindmaps, head over to notebooklm.google.com and create a new note. Upload the sources and then click on the create mind maps. It will generate an interactive mindmap. To interact, you can tap into the concept and further break down the topics. Click on the download link to save the mind map offline.

Use AI for Your Mock Interviews

Mistakes in the interviews can cost you job opportunities. I highly recommend that every interview preparation student or professional take a mock interview before the real interviews because it helps you better understand the concepts, avoid mistakes, and get used to real-world interview scenarios.

There are plenty of platforms for mock interviews that offer real interviews with peers. However, these tools are often paid and don’t offer personalized feedback; they understand you better and explain each concept in the interview if you are unaware of the question; this is where AI mock interviews using AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini can come in handy.

You can use ChatGPT or Google Gemini to provide mock interview questions and address any challenges. There is also a voice mode on platforms that allows you to speak to the voice assistant, but this is not good for now. They still stop during the conversation and have issues, especially if it is longer. So, the alternative option is to use the chat option and text conversations, which help you to read better and understand everything about the interview.

ChatGPT mock interview

Ask ChatGPT or Gemini to understand your skills and what job you are applying for, upload the job description, and ask it to offer a personalized interview that the company might ask in real-world scenarios.

This is one of the biggest advantages of these tools. Unlike online tutors, if you don’t understand any concept or if you get stuck on any questions, you can take the help of AI and also ask for tips and tricks on how to understand these questions, whether there are any principles or frameworks that I can use to answer those questions better.

The best part is that you can ask for real, actionable feedback after answering your questions. This is a game-changer for me. I used to use Topmate.io for mock interviews, but all these have limitations, too. These are real humans, but they don’t provide your personalized experience, detailed feedback, or detailed explanation since most mock-meet-free sessions are limited to 15 minutes.

ChatGPT mock interview feedback

The best part is that you can spend hours with these tools and understand and take mock interviews. For example, I recently used ChatGPT to mimic a PM’s real-world product management challenges. Now I can mimic real-world challenges thing, and the best part is if I get stuck in any problems, I ask ChatGPT to explain to me what a concept is in a more precise way so I can mimic as many real challenges in the product as possible and understand every problem in more detail and framework that I can choose to get better at real-world examples.

These tools can offer you a foundation for learning concepts and how to solve your problems in the real world. You can also watch interview courses like YouTube videos, use role-play, ask tough questions, take feedback, and more.

Compare Your Resume to a Job Description

The job market has become very competitive. For a single job posting on LinkedIn, the Zepto company, a 10-minute delivery app in India, has more than 15,000 applications.

It is hard for HR to review all those applications and find the right ones for the role. This is where plenty of companies have been using AI to analyze, review, analyze user resumes, and filter out the plenty of applications.

Since your resume is the number one factor that decides your job interview, it is highly recommended that you tailor it for the job you are applying for. Many resume creation tools exist, but I love using a LaTeX format from Overleaf. It is simple and easy to use and also looks professional.

Resume scorecard using ChatGPT

Also, it is equally important to personalize and edit your resume for each job description. This is where AI tools like ChatGPT and others can come in handy. You can access your resume score for a job application and get detailed insights. You can upload a job description to ChatGPT, upload yours, and ask this tool to score your resume based on the job description. It offers a free resume score and a breakdown of how to improve the structure and style so you can personalize and tailor your resume for job application and increase your chances of getting a job interview.

Those are the different ways you can use AI to help you better prepare for your interview, and this is just the tip of the iceberg. Honestly, you can do much more with AI and think of it as your Einstein being your best friend. You can ask him anything, ask for guidance, ask for preparation, and gain as much knowledge as possible. I also have a detailed guide on creating the best personalized to-do list and a guide on creating your personalized to-do list app with the help of AI, which can help you easily track your job process and be more organized.
