Vivo X21i with Mediatek P60 Chipset and 24MP Front Camera Launched in China
Sports a tri-bezeless 6.25 inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel
Vivo has launched a new variant of its X21 smartphone that was launched in China earlier this year. It’s calling the all-new smartphone as the Vivo X21i. The most noteworthy difference between the original Vivo X21 and the new X21i lies in the processing department.
The Vivo X21i is the third smartphone in the X21 lineup, with the previous two phones being the Vivo X21 and Vivo X21 UD. The former features a Snapdragon 660 processor, whereas the latter features the highly touted under-display fingerprint sensor. Unlike the original Vivo X21, the all-new X21i comes with a MediaTek P60 octa-core chipset under the hood. The new chip from the Taiwanese chipmaker also features an in-built APU for handling AI tasks. Apart from that, it shares all of its features with its predecessor.
Up front, the Vivo X21i features a 6.28-inch 19:9 Full HD+ Super AMOLED display. The large panel is covered by a 2.5D curved glass and also sports an iPhone X like a notch on top. The bezels are pretty minimal on three sides of the display, and thereby result in an effective 90.3% screen-to-body ratio.
The Vivo X21i sports a dual 12MP rear camera that comes backed by several AI features. This includes beauty and scene detection modes. Besides, the smartphone packs a 24MP front camera for capturing a selfie. The selfie snapper is backed by a wide range of software features like AR stickers, Face Wake facial recognition, AI Beauty mode and more.
The latest mid-range smartphone from Vivo comes loaded with Android Oreo 8.1 with FunTouch OS 4.0 UI on top. Vivo has also incorporated its proprietary Jovi AI assistant into the smartphone. The Vivo X21i comes in a variety of colors namely, Ruby Red, Aurora White and Polar Night Black.
The Vivo X21i comes in two variants, 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage, both of which are priced at 2,698 Yuan (Rs 28,800/$425). Pre-orders for the smartphone has already started on Vivo’s official stores, as well as on online retail websites like JD.com, Tmall, and Suning. The first round of sale is set to commence on May 19 in China. In related news, Vivo recently shared a teaser on its India twitter handle, which gives us a hint regarding the imminent launch of a new X21 series smartphone in the country.
