It’s time! And one of the highly-anticipated smartphone for the year, the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro have just been announced. This year, the event took place at multiple venues across the globe which include the UK, US, and India, with an event slated for May 16 in China. Over the past few weeks, a lot of leaks, rumours, and renders involving the OnePlus 7 series smartphones have been surfacing all over the internet. And today, these smartphones are finally out!

Design and Display
The OnePlus 7 has a pretty familiar design and comes with a 6.41-inch AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, and a waterdrop notch at the top to incorporate the front-facing camera and the earpiece. The display also comes with features like Video Enhancer, Reading Mode, and Night Mode. Apparently, the design of the OnePlus 7 is quite identical to the previous model from the company, the OnePlus 6T with a similar kind of placement for the volume rockers and power button. The OnePlus 7 comes in two colour options: Mirro Gray and Red.
Performance and Hardware
Talking about one of the key aspects of OnePlus devices, the performance – the all-new OnePlus 7 comes with 7 nm-based 2.84 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with Qualcomm AI Engine and Adreno 640 GPU under the hood, combined with 6 GB/8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB/256 GB UFS 3.0 storage options. The OnePlus 7 uses an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock for authentication. It runs on OnePlus’ OxygenOS based on Android 9.0 Pie and is powered by a 3700 mAh battery with Fast Charging.
Camera
The camera has become one of the key aspects of gauging a smartphone these days. And to improve upon their existing standard of camera quality, OnePlus has included a dual rear camera setup (48MP primary Sony IMX586 sensor with 1.6 μm pixel size, f/1.7 aperture, and OIS and EIS) + (5MP secondary sensor with 1.12 μm pixel size and f/2.4 aperture) with dual LED flash on the OnePlus 7. With video capabilities that allow for 4K at 30/60 fps and 1080p at 30/60 fps, along with super slow-mo in 1080p at 240 fps and 720p at 480 fps, and time-lapse recording. The rear camera also comes with features like Nightscape, Studio Lighting, AI Scene Detection, Portrait, Pro Mode, Panorama, HDR, RAW Image, and UltraShot.
On the front, the OnePlus 7 has a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor with 1.0 μm pixel size, f/2.0, fixed focus autofocus, and EIS. Video capabilities for the front camera allow for 1080p at 30 fps, in addition to time-lapse recording. The front camera also offers features like Face Unlock, HDR, Screen Flash, and Face Retouching.
Other Specifications
Other specifications for the OnePlus 7 include dual stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos sound, USB 3.1 (GEN1), Type-C, Dual nano-SIM slot. In terms of connectivity, the OnePlus 7 comes with Wi-Fi (2×2 MIMO, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4G/5G), Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo.
Pricing and Availability
The OnePlus 7 is offered in two RAM + storage configurations: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB and is priced at Rs 32,999 and Rs 37,999 respectively. The OnePlus 7 will be available starting June.
