In Summary
- The Nu Republic Cyberstud SPIN combines the functionality of a fidget spinner with earbuds.
- These Earbuds are priced under 2,499 and offer a unique design, unlike any traditional earbuds.
- While they excel in design, they offer sub-par sound quality. However, if you don’t care much about sound, these deliver what they promised, but you cannot use them practically.
Nu Republic has announced the Cyber Stud earbuds, a hybrid product that combines earbuds with a fidget spinner. I’ve seen people using hybrid earbud products in public and always wondered how they sound and how they compare to traditional products that are more practical. So, I had a chance to use the Nu Republic Cyber Stud earbuds for a week, replacing my AirPods. In this article, I will answer all these questions and share my experience with the product.

If you are here for the review, Here is what I felt about using these earbuds for a week: The design is unique, and if you are in a public place, it will grab attention. It’s unique, and people will stare at it, making you feel like you have a gadget from Star Wars.
The sound quality is average; the volume is low, the bass is flat, and the trebles are decent but lack depth. Should you buy this product? If you want a unique pair of earbuds, you might consider it, but if you care about sound quality, there are many better alternatives at this price point. Now, let’s look deep into the product and what it’s like using it.
What’s Special About Cyberstud SPIN Earbuds?
Companies generally combine two product functionalities to offer a unique value to the user. In this case, the Nu Republic Cyberstud SPIN combines the functionality of a fidget spinner with earbuds. These products are not generally for the masses. But cater to a specific user segment who value a particular feature.
How is it Different from Traditional Earbuds?
Nu Republic Cyberstud is different from other earbuds in both good and bad ways. It offers a unique and attractive design. There are many other earbuds with fancy designs, but most still offer a similar form factor as earbuds. However, With Nu Republic Cyber Stud, it’s a different case; people don’t even realize these are earbuds until they see you taking earbuds out of the case.
In terms of comfort, Earbuds are lightweight and easy to wear for longer hours. The case is hard to carry. Even though they fit into your pocket, you might feel some discomfort, especially when wearing tight jeans. Taking out the earbuds and using them is awkward. When opening the earbuds, you hear a similar sound, and the process of taking out and putting back the earbuds is not appealing and feels cumbersome.
It is also not the best as a fidget spinner. Firstly, it’s heavy, and while it can spin fast, it stops quickly due to the body design. You need to be extra careful while spinning with the earbuds in place, as they can easily come off. This has happened to me several times. However, they are good for passing the time, especially when you’re wearing them and holding the case in your hands, and you might start spinning them without even realizing it.
Cyberstud SPIN: Sound Quality?
I didn’t have high expectations for the audio quality since it was more focused on being unique rather than delivering quality sound. As expected, the sound quality is below average; everything is flat, including the bass, vocals, and instrumentals (treble). I spent most of the time using it as a fidget spinner rather than earbuds.
I prefer sound quality over the design of the earbuds anytime, and I know I am not the right user for this product, so I shared it with my friend who doesn’t care much about sound quality. He already uses WeCool gaming earbuds with fancy RGB lighting. And he liked the product, he doesn’t care about the sound quality, but he likes the product for its unique design.
Battery life is great, they can easily last for days with one full charge and you can easily charge the case with the type C port.
Does it Satisfy Users Looking for a Unique Experience?
Yes, it has all the fancy stuff you would expect (or not expect). The design is unlike any other TWS earbuds on the market. The fancy sounds and RGB lights are instant attention grabbers.
However, I wouldn’t recommend this product for ₹2,500 even if you want to be unique and have fancy things. Instead, get a casual pair of earbuds and buy a separate fidget spinner. Look for other alternatives on Amazon and local markets, where you will find more aggressively designed products than these.
Nu republic Cyberstud SPIN Earbuds Review Verdict
If you love unique gadgets and don’t mind the sound quality, the Nu Republic Cyberstud Spin might be for you. However, if you value sound quality and practical use, you’re better off with traditional earbuds and a separate fidget spinner. For Rs 2,500, there are better alternatives available (like the Redmi Buds 5 or the OnePlus Nord Buds 2) that offer good sound. For a unique design, look for options on Amazon or local markets for a better deal that is cheaper and more striking in design.
