There has been a deluge of posts about Reliance Jio and the Preview Offer on the Indian blogosphere over the past few weeks, and why not? The launch of Jio (which is just around the corner) is expected to shake up the Indian telecom industry in a big way, and we are getting a taste of it already. Just over a month back, we exclusively reported Jio extending the 90-day preview offer to select few high-end Samsung smartphones. And just yesterday, it was extended to all Samsung and LG 4G phones. And now, we are being told that the free Jio SIM with 3-month preview plan can be availed on ANY 4G handset across the country. VoLTE is required for calls, but not mandatory, as Jio Join app can be used on non-VoLTE enabled smartphones.

That’s right. If you are in possession of a 4G enabled handset, be it from Apple, Xiaomi, Lenovo, OnePlus, Micromax or any manufacturer, you are entitled to purchase a Reliance Jio SIM with partner offer for free. The partner offer entitles you with 90-days of unlimited calls, unlimited SMS, unlimited 4G data and the complete suite of Reliance Jio apps. This is a brutal onslaught of sorts on incumbent telcos like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and others by Reliance Jio. As per some reports, Jio already had over 1.5 million subscribers through the preview offer, and that’s expected to multiple with the latest announcement. This was first reported by GizmoTimes, and we could confirm the same from our own sources.

Much like in the past, the information has leaked before the official announcement. Not all Reliance Digital store guys have been alerted about the roll out of preview offer for ALL 4G phones, so don’t be surprised if some store guys turn you down in the first couple of days. Also, it seems the offer is available only at the Reliance Digital stores and not at the Reliance DxMini (express) outlets for now.

How to avail Reliance Jio SIM with Free Preview Offer?

We had written a detailed guide on how to get Reliance Jio sim for Samsung phones, but for non-Samsung and non-LG 4G phones, you DON’T need to generate the code on MyJio app. Instead, you can simply walk down to a Reliance Digital store with required documents (ID proof and address proof) and a photograph to get the free Jio SIM. We suggest you to call up a couple of stores and confirm with them before you head out. Also, some store folks might ask you for MyJio and other suite of Jio apps, so better install all the eleven apps before you visit the store.

In short, there is no official confirmation about the Jio preview offer being rolled out to ALL 4G enabled smartphones, but we have information about Jio sending SMS to several store guys to provide the Jio SIM without asking for the MyJio code.
