Samsung S25 Series Design: More Rounded, Setting Boxy Apart
Samsung has already found its design identity for its flagship S series. So, we are not expecting much of a difference in the design of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. According to the latest leaked renders from reputable sources, the Galaxy S25 series will come with rounded corners and new color variants.

From the images, you can see that Samsung has a very similar design to the S24 series, especially with the vertically aligned real cameras, flat displays, and punch-hole camera on the front.
However, the biggest noticeable difference is that the Samsung S25 Ultra has rounded corners, unlike a boxy design. Here is the image showing the side-by-side comparison of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with the S25 Ultra (in a render). According to the leaks, bezels on the S25 series are even thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro.
You won’t find much of a difference in the back since its design identity remains consistent with vertical cameras and a flat display.

As per another leak, the Samsung Galaxy S25 is rumored to have a titanium frame, while the standard models will retain aluminum frames. As the bezels are now thinner, we can expect a slight increase in the display size of the S25 series.
The standard models are expected to have a slightly larger display compared to the previous models. As per the leak, the Samsung Galaxy S25 is to have a 6.36-inch screen, up from the 6.2-inch screen found on the S24, which matches the display size of the iPhone 16 Pro.
In addition to these changes, the S25 series is expected to come in new color variants. These include titanium black, titanium blue (Ultra’s main color), titanium gold, and titanium silver for the Ultra model.
The standard variants are also expected to come with new color variants. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S25 is expected to increase its appeal with the rounded bezel design. I kind of like the boxy design, but considering it has sharp corners, that might hurt fingers while holding, the new rounded corners might feel more comfortable in hand.
By the way, the S25 Ultra will also support the S Pen, and from the videos, you can see it is in the same bottom-right corner position. We are also expecting a slimmer design since the battery technology has been improved to integrate a larger capacity in a smaller form factor. Whether we will see the Samsung Galaxy S25 series with a bigger battery or a slimmer form factor is yet to be seen. Speaking of the form factor, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra series is also rumored to include a new slim model.
Bigger and Brighter Displays
Along with the slight increase in the display size, Samsung’s S25 Ultra will have the same anti-reflective property as the S24, but this time, it will have improved protection using Corning Gorilla Glass. According to Ice Universe, the Samsung S25 Ultra is expected to come exclusively with support for Corning Gorilla Armor Glass with an anti-reflective coating.
The existing gorilla glass Armor offered strong protection and reduced susceptibility. The upcoming Corning Gorilla Armor 2 is expected to enhance this protection further. We don’t have any official specifications or durability tests for the glass. However, as per leaks, it is going to be stronger and exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy S25 series.
However, the display material has remained the same. According to the leaks, Samsung is using the same M13 unique OLED panel for the S25 series. The display is already excellent, offering the best-in-class display on the S24 Ultra, and now it is also expected to support 3000 nits of brightness compared to 2600 nits in the S24 Ultra.
However, rivals such as the iPhone and Pixel have already opted for the M14 OLED display by Samsung, which makes it surprising to see Samsung has not equipped its devices with the M14. Since we have to wait another year to match the competition, we are expecting a better display with better calibration. The rest of the display specs are going to be almost similar, with an LTPO panel, 120Hz refresh rate, and 3120×1440 resolution.
Qi2 Wireless Charging Support With Magnetic Attachments
We might finally get support for Qi2 wireless charging on the Samsung flagship series. Even though Qi2 was announced in 2023, the only Android device to feature this technology is the HMD Skyline.
The biggest update to Qi2 compared to Qi1 (which was announced in 2010 and supported by the Samsung S24 series) is the addition of the Magnetic Power Profile. Devices that support Qi2 should have a magnet around the charging coil to help devices fit and ensure perfect alignment for faster wireless charging. Apple MagSafe wireless charging on iPhone 12 series, along with the addition of magnetic accessories that attach wirelessly to the back of the devices.
This also means the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 is expected to feature a magnetic mechanism (speculated to offer magnetic charging cases instead of assigning magnets directly to the device) that improves wireless charging and also supports magnetic wireless accessories for the Galaxy S25 series.
Samsung is expected to launch a transparent magnetic case, but the details are shorter. While Qi2 can support wireless charging speeds up to 15W, reports indicate that the Samsung S25 series might support up to 25W wireless charging speeds.
OneUI 7 Is on Board With Lots of Improvements
Samsung Galaxy S25 series will feature One UI 7. We already have a detailed guide on 10 major changes coming to Samsung’s One UI 7 since the beta is already out to the public. There are lots of improvements, additions of new features, better animations, and also an Apple-like noq bar that shows real-time activities similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island. We can expect all these features in the upcoming S25 series, which will mark a major overhaul of the existing OS.
In addition to this, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series is also rumored to support seamless updates. All the models are expected to benefit from seamless Android updates, which allow you to install updates in the background while using your smartphone. However, the long-awaited Find My Device support when the device is turned off does not come to the Samsung S25 series. According to Android Authority, the Samsung S25 won’t support Find My Device when the phone is turned off.
Samsung will continue to offer seven years of iOS updates on the S25 series. In addition to these, the S25 series is also claimed to have a useful car crash detection feature. All in all, Samsung, along with hardware support, is also going to significantly improve the software in the upcoming S25 series with all the major changes in One UI 7 and the benefits of seamless updates.
Improved Cameras
The cameras on the Samsung S25 series are also getting an upgrade. The standard Galaxy S25 and S25+ it is rumored to have a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization and fast autofocus on a 10MP sensor that offers up to 3X optical zoom and an ultra-wide-angle lens with a 12MP sensor with 120-degree fields of view. It is going to have the same 12MP selfie camera and support for recording at 60FPS.
The main camera on the S25 Ultra gets a big upgrade. It is rumored to have a 200-megapixel (Samsung ISOCELL HP2) wide-angle lens with optical stabilization, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50-megapixel sensor with 3X optical zoom. Additionally, it will have a secondary telephoto periscope with a 50-megapixel sensor with 10X optical zoom. It is also expected to have the same 12-megapixel selfie camera with 4K video recording support.
Snapdragon 8 Elite on Board for All Models
The never-ending debate of using Exynos and Snapdragon processors on Samsung flagships continues for the upcoming Galaxy S25 series. Previously, it was stated that Samsung might feature the Exynos 2500 on Galaxy S25 and S25+ models for a few markets. However, due to issues, the Exynos 2500 is not going to be featured in the Galaxy S25 series, as reported by some Korean media. There are strong rumors that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series will feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor across all models, including the standard S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. This is expected to be the case for all markets, even for India, where the Samsung 25 series will not feature the Exynos 2500.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite is a powerful processor, even beating the latest A18 Pro Bionic chip in terms of benchmarks. Smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite are already out in the market and showing boosts in terms of performance and gaming, especially in GPU benchmarks, with the Adreno GPU outperforming Apple’s A18 Pro in many cases. It is expected to be notable in real-world performance on the Samsung S25 series.
Along with this, there is also chatter indicating that Samsung will ditch the base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variants in the upcoming S25 series. This means that the Samsung Galaxy S25, even in the base variant, will start with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage with UFS 4.0, which offers double the storage speeds compared to the previous version. This, combined with improved RAM for better AI enhancements locally on the device and accompanying software updates, will make the Samsung S25 series one of the most powerful Android smartphones.
However, we have to wait and see how these devices perform in real-world usage, especially with the thermals of the Snapdragon 8 Elite on Samsung devices.
A Slim Model To Compete With Future iPhone 17 Air
There is also strong speculation in the industry claiming that Samsung might also have a new slim variant of the S25 series. However, it is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2025 to compete against the rumored iPhone 17 Air variant. While the details of this device are short, and we don’t have any renders or leaks of this smartphone for now, it is expected to feature a body under 7mm thick (FYI, the slimmest Android smartphone currently from the Honor 200 lite, which has a 6.8mm thickness).

A slimmer design sacrifices battery size. However, thanks to advancements in battery technology in recent times, despite having a thickness under 7mm, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim (or it might launch under another name) is expected to feature a battery around 4700 to 5000mAh. It is also expected to come with similar camera capabilities as the S25 series, including a 200MP camera with the Samsung ISOCELL HP2 sensor, along with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and an improved 50MP telephoto lens that has 3.5x optical zoom. It is also expected to come with a flagship Snapdragon 8 Lite processor that is expected to power the Snapdragon S25 series. However, it might not have an S-pen support since it is hard to fit in an S-pen in the slim form factor.
