Some Galaxy S23 Users Are Seeing Green Line or Pink Line Issues After Upgrading to One UI 8.5

Galaxy S23 Green and Pink Line Issues

If you own any of the S23 models, including the S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra, do not update to the latest One UI 8.5. Some users are reporting green line and pink line issues after upgrading to One UI 8.5. According to some reports, this is mostly happening in India, and not all users are being affected.

While it does not affect every device, it is better to wait a few days until Samsung officially acknowledges it.

There can be many reasons for the green line or pink line issues on phone displays. However, if it appears after an update, it is likely because of the overheating of the display. Updating your phone to a new version generally takes a lot of resources and overheats the device, which is one of the reasons for green line issues appearing on smartphones.

Most Galaxy S23 series devices are almost out of warranty.

To fix the green line issues, service centers are charging 15,000 to 19,000 rupees, depending on your variant. One UI 8.5 brings several updates, but Samsung hasn’t acknowledged this update issue yet. If you are a Galaxy S23 user and haven’t updated, I recommend waiting for a few more days until Samsung acknowledges it.

Apple Is Going to Release a Few More iOS 27 Features, Possibly Alongside the iPhone 18 Series

New iOS 27 Features Coming in September

This year’s software updates from Apple are all about refinements, except for the new Siri AI upgrades and the new Apple Intelligence features. However, according to the latest report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, three more features are expected to arrive in iOS 27 in September, possibly alongside the upcoming iPhone 18 Series.

First is the simpler modular watch face style for new regular watches, new Siri extensions, and A new customizable camera app.

Apple’s popular Modular Ultra watch face, which was announced for Apple Watch Ultra 2 and later made available for the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra through an update, is now reportedly getting a “mini” version for the standard Series models.

Apple watch modular face

The Apple Watch Modular face is one of the most popular watch faces that many people like. It is also one of the iconic faces for the Ultra series, accommodating a lot of information.

Now, a mini version of that same face, possibly with less data, is coming to the standard watch series. Apple reportedly will announce it alongside the upcoming Apple Watch Series 12.

Siri is getting three more extensions, including support for Claude, Google Gemini, and ChatGPT, apart from the current ChatGPT integration. Soon, you will be able to select which model provider can answer your Siri queries.

For instance, if you enable the Claude extension in the new Siri AI app and ask Siri about a specific query that includes Claude or Gemini, instead of Siri answering your question, it will use that AI model to answer your question, but the interface will be Siri itself.

The reasons might be that Apple wanted to give Siri more options, allowing for answers from various models that many people are already using.

Another possible factor is cost reduction. While Apple is currently offering Apple Intelligence features for free, it will likely start charging for them very soon. See the full story below for more details. A new customizable camera app is also in the works and expected to be revealed alongside the iPhone 18 series.

You Might Soon Have to Pay for Apple Intelligence Features

Apple Intelligence Could Become a Paid Service

Apple will reportedly charge for some Apple Intelligence features in the future. The report comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who says the majority of Apple Intelligence features for on-device tasks (such as setting alarms, opening settings, and running advanced Apple Intelligence models on device ) will remain free. However, for generative responses that require the cloud, Apple may charge users.

This is obviously going to be the next obvious move from Apple for two main reasons. Running AI models on the cloud requires a lot of resources. While some Android devices offer AI features, Apple’s adoption will likely be larger due to its huge user base.

Furthermore, since Siri is becoming more useful, more users are expected to use it more often, even using it as an alternative to existing models for some queries.

Mark Gurman says this is reportedly in an early plan. However, considering the adoption of Siri and the cost of running AI models, we expect this to definitely happen sometime in the future.

Apple already charges a premium for every other service; we are expecting a similar price for the future of Apple Intelligence. Reports also suggest that it might be included with the Apple One subscription.

More Details About the Upcoming iPhone 18 Series

iPhone 18 Pro Durability Concerns

A new report reveals that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro might also have the same durability issues, such as paint peeling, because the same aluminum material is being used on the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series as well.

Apple has switched from titanium to aluminum on the iPhone 17 Pro series and also brought a new standard color, like Cosmic Orange. However, because of the aluminum, many iPhone 17 Pro users have reported paint peeling issues and some surface chipping on their iPhones.

The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series will also use the same materials and standout color options; these issues are likely to exist in those models as well. iPhone 18 Pro series will be available in Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Dark Gray, and Silver color options.

Google Is Completely Ending Manifest V2 Support on Google Chrome

Google Chrome Ends Manifest V2 Support

In the upcoming Google Chrome 150 and 151 versions, Google Chrome will completely get rid of its Manifest V2 code. Extensions, including ad blockers that use Manifest V2, will no longer work on the latest Google Chrome versions.

Manifests are the rulebooks for extensions on how they can run on Google Chrome. In 2024, Google moved from Manifest V2 to Manifest V3, which now has stricter controls and gives less access to the network and other features for third-party extensions. Google says this move is to enhance security.

Because of this change, many AdBlock extensions that use Manifest V2 will be limited. uBlock Origin is one of the most popular ad blocker extensions, but it has now been phased out because of the Chrome Manifest V3 update.

However, despite the shift, Google Chrome has still allowed users to use Manifest V2 through flags and other workarounds. In upcoming updates, Google is going to remove all of these workarounds and remove the capability completely from the Google Chrome browser.

You can still continue using older versions of Google Chrome if you want full support for Manifest V2. However, some ad blockers have already been updated to support Manifest V3. You can view the full list here.
